  1. Hi Sanvara, no, I am in Scotland. Long way from China, opposite side of Eurasia. Best wishes to you and be kind.

  2. If you think China National Highway 318 (G318) is beautiful enough, then you should take the Luya line. If you think that the Bing-Cha-Cha Line is exciting enough, then you should take the Luya line. One would want to take more motocross trips once he or she has a memorable motorcycle trip before.

For experienced motorcyclists, the Luya line has been on “must go list” for a long time.

Solo Motorcycle Touring Across The Luya Line (From Daocheng Yading to Lugu Lake)-2

When rode from Oya Village to Iji Village, he shall rode across the big bridge.
There was no road sign, so he took a wrong road and walked more than 30 kilometers.
Solo Motorcycle Touring Across The Luya Line-9.jpg

After crossing the big bridge, the hill was coiled. There were concrete road whose width was only about three meters. There was a dangerous cliff near the road, and falling rocks were commonly seen there.
Solo Motorcycle Touring Across The Luya Line-10.jpg

When he went up the hill to the road under construction, the cement was not yet dry and the narrowest part of the road was only 20 centimeters. So his motorcycle could not pass.

After handing out a round of cigarettes to the master workers, they kindly suggested to return to the other side of the river the same way he came down. Thanks a lot! Or he would not come across the road successfully.
Solo Motorcycle Touring Across The Luya Line-11.jpg

He came across the river at the bottom left of this photo, and then followed the zigzag dirt road up the hill to bypass the construction section.

The deepest part of the water was not more than half a wheel, but the bottom of the river was large and was filled with small rocks.
Solo Motorcycle Touring Across The Luya Line-14.jpg

If he came back across the river again, it was expected to be very troublesome! Fortunately, he came across the river smoothly.
Solo Motorcycle Touring Across The Luya Line-15.jpg

Along the zigzag dirt road up the hill, the soil was loose and the slope was steeper. Too much throttle was very easy to slide, he kept a steady low to medium speed, and tried to move forward smoothly.

I'm wondering if the road you took from Daocheng to Luguhu Lake is the same route we did back in 2010 ?

That route is totally insane, one of the most beautiful rides in the world. The people building the roads in that area are amazing.

Those roads from Daocheng to Lugu Lake are finished already. It would be more convenient to have motorcycle trips there. Thanks to those great workers, there are roads and bridges even in remote and tough areas.

Solo Motorcycle Touring Across The Luya Line (From Daocheng Yading to Lugu Lake)-3

From time to time, there were dump trucks going downhill. The drivers was very friendly to stopped before entering the turn to let him stand on the outside of the turn first. Safety is always the first thing to follow. Kudos!

Elbow bend, floating soil, steep slope... ...It is not easy to grasp the balance to ride all the way.
Solo Motorcycle Touring Across The Luya Line-19.jpg

The lucky thing is that he has rich experience in the area of motocross. So he was able to pass these turns successfully. Bypassing the construction section, he arrived safely in Iji Village.
Solo Motorcycle Touring Across The Luya Line-20.jpg

From Iji Village to Lugu Lake was basically a paved road. That was a piece of case for him. On the way from Iji Village to House Foot Township, he travel through the primeval forest with magnificent views!
Solo Motorcycle Touring Across The Luya Line-21.jpg

Finally, he arrived at Lugu Lake at around 6 pm. The actual distance from Yading to Lugu Lake was 314 km. Only the road section between Oya Village and Iji Village was more difficult.
Solo Motorcycle Touring Across The Luya Line-22.jpg

The beautiful scenery of Lugu Lake
Solo Motorcycle Touring Across The Luya Line-23.jpg

Unfortunately, the entire Luya route was under construction and the famous and dangerous Luya route only remains in our memory. Although there were some difficulties along the way, he made the whole trip meaningful and worth remembering.
Solo Motorcycle Touring Across The Luya Line-24.jpg

The advantage of group motorcycle trip is that they could appreciate each other and take care of each other. A solo motorcycle trip could feel the freedom of the riding.

You can also be wonderful on your own, truly independent to have true freedom.
  11. An amazing place, Chinese road builders must be some of the best in the world. They build roads in such difficult conditions, my respects to them. I hope you have great travels after the Spring Festival and are able to show us more of your beautiful country and wonderful people and food! It must have been very difficult for the Fufeng brother on such a big bike, Kind regards.

Fufeng Brothers’ Motorcycle Trip In The Northernmost Part Of China-2

The scenery in Beiji Village (nicknamed as the North Pole Village) of Mohe county in summer was extremely charming. It is the northernmost village in China. Because of the high latitude of 53 degrees, there happens white nights phenomenon around the summer solstice with nearly 20 hours of daytime per day.

Out of the love of nature exploration, the Fufeng brothers measured the Beiji Village with their wheels.

Life in the village was quite simple. Fufeng brothers spent their days in the village and it was a great getaway experience from the busy city life.

Unfortunately, Fufeng brothers did not have a chance to see the aurora borealis.

Hope to visit the Beiji Village next summer and take a chance to see the aurora borealis and enjoy the bonfire at night.

The Fufeng brothers were reunited with their beloved motorcycles in Northern Europe after more than 40 days, and they seemed to be a bit overwhelmed with joy.

Riding through famous local forest parks and small towns, they encountered the beauty of Northern Europe.

The roads in the suburbs with fewer vehicles, and the sky seabirds constantly circling, all these seemed to warmly welcome the guests, Fufeng brothers from the East.
    Motorcycle Trip in Finland-9.jpg

It was still slightly cold in Finland in late May, while the enthusiasm of the Fufeng brothers for motorcycle trip was still high.
