A trip I took up to Alaska riding on the Stewart-Cassiar Hwy BC, Canada. Usually heavily populated with grizzly bears I ran into this situation.

Rode up behind the bear, reved my motor and honked my horn. Bear ran into the woods and both the biker and I continued on our way. FYI, he was on the 1st leg of a 16 month trip to Argentina

Ahh, the rare and elusive Pygmy Giant Land Tortoise we found trying to cross the road in South Africa. We felt a connection to him as he was the only thing on the road slower than us!

There really are no words to describe the terror. She may have been a little bear, but she was still a mama with twins. And the black bag on the back of the bike contained 2 sandwiches, a bag of chips, some cookies...

I did. You can see a brown arch in the bottom of these pics. That is the windscreen of the bike behind me who was taking the pictures.

When he suddenly yelled....stabilize your bike, stabilize your bike..... START YOUR ENGINE..... while honking his horn,

She got down and went to the side of the road and we road off. The situation had gone from neat, to dangerous to...ohh God I am gonna die in a hurry. It was time to get out of dodge!
