I'm having issues with one of my older MP3 players, Creative Muvo V100. I've downloaded over 200 songs onto it but it will only play 24. When plugged into my desktop it shows over 200 songs but I can't get it to play all of them. Been dealing with this issue for about a year now. I've done all the updates available and used numerous different music programs but no joy.
I would just throw it away but it's been the easiest mp3 to operate on the bike with gloves and the battery lasts for weeks.

Flash memory's probably done. Bad cells, corrupt filesystem, etc. That stuff doesn't last forever.

    You do have backups, right?

Are those songs in a separate playlist? I have that problem too and it seems that I have a few playlist (mostly the same) with the same name. If I use the wrong one only a a portion of my songs play. I think the mistaken extra playlists are made when I import from different operating systems. CPU (Mac) Phone (Android) Laptop (Microsoft)

I also have an issue where some songs play twice back to back.
    Player is iPod shuffle

Yeah was thinking it's shot. The music loaded are in the correct format and I've tried moving the songs around into different folders but nothing works. you'd think it should last forever there's no moving parts.

Did you purchase any of your music from iTunes? there are a lot of issues with that.. A Googoo search on the subject may help
