I wondered if we might get a pic from you today. Is that the last ferry heading off out of shot before they got canned?
I think so, wouldn't have wanted to be on it though. The Bluebridge followed it soon after. Rough as guts out there.
Builders got one day in this week, today. Deck foundation starting to take shape. Windows arrive Tuesday. Weatherboard and kwila decking is being delivered next Friday from the local depo where it has been sitting for a few weeks. Things are happening.
Couldn't do without my Oxfords. The Tiger is the first bike I've ever had heated grips on...never realised what I was missing out on Had to adjust the barkbusters a tad though, cos cold wind was chilling my brake and clutch fingers. Seems better now....air does crazy stuff when ya plowing through it at speed...I can see why some guys use those giant handlebar gauntlet thingies
Progress. Windows arrived today. Deck sub-frame taking shape. At the near end of the deck we have install a large three panel slider (3.0m wide). At the other end around the corner we will install a three panel bi-folding door. One door opens by itself, the other two bi-fold. The bi-folding door is in the front in this pic, the 3.0m slider is behind it. The rest of the windows and the new front door. deck sub-frame will be completed today.
Deck sub-frame almost done. The two large doors that didn't fit in the garage for storing until fitting are safely tucked away behind the plywood sheets. We're expecting stormy weather tomorrow.
I found a couple of pics of the house as we bought it. Here is the original deck/patio area And the sunny north side viewed from the other end The view from this angle now and the view of the original deck/patio area as it was at the beginning of the week
The decking timber and weatherboard arrived and the truck driver knew his stuff from the location of the truck on the road side of the fence he managed to land the stacks of timber here on the lawn and deck. Impressive.
I spent the weekend painting. We decided the colour I started with was too bland (in the pic above). But we couldn't agree on what to do. In the end we created our own colour by blending the bland with a strong colour in a 50/50 mix so I can always get the colour right. So now we have... Today the builders are working on installing the three panel ranch slider at the other end of the deck. The front unit is installed in the dinning room (second picture above). The ranch slider is the one behind it in the pic below, it is going where that window is (by now was) and a new 3m wide hole will be cut today, lintel put in and hopefully the slider installed.
