I'm thinking of a ride around Mt. Rainer if it is open this weekend. Based on what I am reading and studying maps, I think it's open, but don't know the area.

Anyone know the facts instead of informed guesses like mine?

I was in Enumclaw/Buckley/Carbon River this weekend and it wasn’t open.

    PCKopp confirms its still not.

Can I get there via 410 and then down to Yakima? Is that the ride?

Yes, 410 to Cayuse (123) to White Pass (12), will get you to Yakima. But if you're just interested in going around Rainier, when you get to the intersection with 12 take a right. Go down to Morton and head back north. Check out a map, it will all become crystal clear. Have fun!

Skate creek Rd from Packwood on hwy 12 may be open through to Ashford, but maybe call the ranger district to be sure. Beats the section of 12 from Packwood to Morton, IMO.

@Chanesj, what do you ride? I was out and about in the area yesterday as well. Did not get to meet the officer anywhere, fortunately. Saw a number of other dualsports out, as well as the usual gaggles.

Yeah, so I just looked more closely at your avatar.....never mind the question!

    Thanks for posting that link.

Man, the LEOs are so tough on 410. 5 over; where else (other than anywhere on 12 from White Pass to I-5) are you going to get stopped for that?

I have a story very similar to that. Got pulled over for passing on a double yellow line many years ago near Chemult on 97. Little did he know I had been doing 150 indicated 30 min prior. :augie

Doing this ride Tuesday or Wednesday if anyone in the Puget sound area is interested in joining. Those days are forecasting good weather so it might be a good day to get out.

The gap where you hit 123. What did you do there?
