I spent a night at the Mt. Shasta KOA back in 2011 on a cross country ride. It was a really nice little town first thing in the morning.

Nice reports and pics, there is a never ending bunch of areas to explore up north. I worked in Weed for a month one time and went exploring after work a lot on the mt bike. Been up to Castle Lake hiking/climbing/Hart Lake/Castle Dome trail. I like that "State of Jefferson" Trade route idea.

But seriously, the rest of you, there is Nothing to see in nor cal,no real point driving or riding up this way. Far South is where the action is.

State of Jefferson Trade route was figured out by" Siskiyou County Off Road Riders" It's a proposed ohv route Yreka to the coast. they had a map on their website,,,,probably never happen in Ca. but it works for legal dualsports!

Looks like a fun day or two out there. I'm a close resident to Mt. Shasta also. Did you follow existing gps maps, or make your own?
