I spent 25 years teaching in Dunsmuir. I hated the winters, but the curvy roads, vistas, and thrills the rest of the year made up for it. Thanks for taking me back home for a short visit.

I lived in Redding for fourteen years and just road & raced a little locally, wish I would have branched out a little more when I lived there, beautiful country.

Backyard , oh well ,no riding,,0 degrees a couple days ago then 3ft of snow then very heavy rain on top. backcountry skiing's pretty good !!
Great pictures, you're a lucky man! I've been really trying to get down there and race the shasta dam hare scramble. It really looks like such a great place to ride. Hopefully 2017 will be the year.
Big H2O year,,,aprox 180% of normal in most spots. Rivers ,waterfalls lakes all good,Road up the Mtn still closed @ 6500'. Actually winter was waaaay too long this year!
Another Beautiful day , Drank some Orange Koolaid,,headed up the rocky volcano highway,,awesome views !
West of big old Mt.Shasta is Mt. Eddy,awesome in its own right !,,Lots of old worn out logging rds. and trails to explore,,Also headwaters of the Sacramento River

Mt. Shasta has become an icon to me, it was also the spiritual center-of-the-universe of a departed riding buddy from Medford, OR.

I lived in Weed many years ago. I’ve been fortunate to have traveled to some beautiful areas over the years, but Mt. Shasta is truly special. It really is a magical place.
Rode up and west into the Trinity mts ,variety of logging rds ,lakes,endless views, Might have to move some where else ,our lakes are just getting too crowded!
Rode back down on the South side of Castle Crags
Wandered up on Mt Eddy to hike up the Sisson-Callahan wagon trail. meadows ,wildflowers head waters of the N.Fk. Sacramento River
