Hey, so those are Kendra 270s. I know they're not real lobbies, but they seem a pretty decent tire. Behave on pavement, grip off-road pretty good. You have experience with them as a comparison? I was doing between 25-30 mph on most of that trail, between the sightlines, traffic and trails, that seemed a good pace. Thoughts?
Looks like you needs to lobbies dem in the trash. I'm not particular to any tire but that one looks like it's gone.
That's what is on my KLR. Front is ok but not as good as a real knobby on loose surfaces. I hate the rear on pavement.
I'm a believer that true dualsporting on a thumper in the northwoods needs a knobby on the front, and a good 50/50 tire on the back, especially if you're riding roads to get to the trails. The front knob will keep you tracking in the sand, gravel, and loam - while a good 50/50 tire will cover everything (except deep-ass sugar sand) and excel on the pavement and not get ground into powder. In my world true dualsport rubber, like the 270, should be illegal up front. They all suck as front tires. I wouldn't ride to the Post Office on them. I have settled on my favorite combo...an IRC TR8 up front, and a Shinko 244 on the rear. The IRC wears like iron but works well in the soft stuff up there. And the Shinko 244 is a better 270. Better off-road and better on pavement. I'm a big fan. Plus, I'm also opinionated and crotchety. So there is that. I run HD tubes at 17-18 front/19-20 rear with Slime. The pressures are a compromise but work well for me. YMMV. Last couple of times I've snuck up to ride parts of the UPAT I never even bothered to swap my rear out for a true knobby. The Shinko works fine for a weekend trip like this Labor Day weekend run. If I were going with a group and we were going to rock & roll then I'd throw a knobby on the back. But it's overkill just for dinking around and exploring, especially with all the pavement.

OK I came over here looking for clues, there are none, slacker. Came across a couple post's I never ran with. He is kinda furry, but a matte gray would have matched better. I was early on the band wagon, Mine is nuclear, had to wait LONGER thanks to the tsunami. I wish I had one of them radiation stickers they did on the Tenere forum, somehow I missed out. End of July 2011 I fetched it up at the dealer. I went black cuz I kept my blue FJR, can't have any jealousy in the cave. I will be over for Super Bike at Road America first weekend in June, lemme know what your schedule looks like, we can has beers or if you are free that week at all go for a putt. I will never have another black motorbike....well unless it's something I just gotta try.
