2019 F850GS - I went down in some pretty powdery/silty talc-like stuff and now my starter/cut-off switch is super hard to press in any direction. No problem, right? Just undo the screw in the bottom of it and remove it. Even the repair manual says "remove PT2.5x6 screw" ... but I can't seem to figure out what size or style the screw is. It LOOKS like it is a hex and the "PT2.5" seems to indicate 2.5mm hex, but it doesn't fit. Nor does any metric hex, torx, or even non-metric hex wrench. GAH.

Anyone have any experience removing this darned thing?

Don't know about the 850's, but my old 800 was a super tiny torx head and the switchgear assembly looked identical to your picture. Something like a T5 or a T7.

Thanks, @rcb78 for the 'push' towards Torx. I had a hard time getting a good visual on the darned screw but I could have SWORN it was hex. You were correct it is TORX and the answer is TORX T9. Mystery solved and now I can get to blasting the dust and crud out of there and put a little graphite in for good measure.

I used a little dielectric grease on mine.
