Why aye man! I spent my formative years drinking Federation Ale in the Easington Working Mens club where all my relatives drank before going on shift at the mine when it was still open. Big swallow country I think they called it. I was up in the North east 2 years ago visiting Holy Island and riding through Northumbria and Yorkshire. Bloody lovely country up there. Well head north on this trip as our eldest just moved to Edinburgh for work.

Thanks Dave and nice to reconnect. Hope you and yours are keeping safe and well. Sad to hear bout your Dad, is so final when they go isn't it. Here one minute and totally gone the next. Unlike your Dad, Mum's last year was buggered up by Covid. She was very social and played Bridge two or three times a week, all that was lost when isolation rules came in to play. It's a cruel disease for the elderly.

Any more tripping planned for you?

No trips til next year Peter. Waiting for this covid to settle down some more and also for the US border to open to land travelers from Canada. Fully vaxxed and still can't get in. We can fly to the US but can't drive there..:scratch..May do a cross Canada trip instead. Been 40 years since the bride and I were last in Newfoundland and I have not ridden to British Columbia since 1989.:fpalm

Yes its a long way across east to west and faster/cheaper on the US side of the border. The joy of the first bends you meet after crossing Minnesota and North Dakota is worth the two or three days of riding in a straight line! Im planning to go back across via Iceland in a year or three and come down the easy coast of US as Ive not explored there yet. It's hard to plan nowadays isn't it? Good news here is that our borders are looking like they will open to more than films stars politicians and footy player in November this year. Heavy vaccine emphasis to enable this opening up.

    Stay well.
