that's quite the photo dump, nice job.
I am doing well!
My parents just got back home to NC a week ago after spending 100 days in Nashville as he recovered from his bone marrow transplant. At 72 years old, dad is doing far above average for a leukemia patient. He’s just happy to finally be back home and able to take his Mercedes out for the first time in over a year.
I just started a new job, today as a matter of fact. Nothing special....working in a warehouse for about 30k.
I’ve not posted a “final thoughts” to this or anything like that because the fact is I don’t want it to be over. Right now, I hope to just save every penny I can and take another epic trip come May. Maybe 20 days....maybe 100 if I can. Lots of work to do on my home to perhaps rent it out, funding said trip. So I’m not really going to try to “cap” my story here, because it’s not over.
It ain't over till it's over.
Great to hear about your dad. Continued good wishes.
And good on ya, mate, for starting to plan/continue the next trip. Inspiring to hear and thanks for sharing.
@Howboudanancypelosi how's it going? Any updates on you or the various legal infractions collected during this adventure?
Hope all is well.
So far the legal infractions have proven to be rather, absent, for lack of a better word. I got my 116 in a 60 in Oregon and wrote a letter to the judge. It was reduced to 99 mph, from a $1200 fine to a $400 fine.
My DUI mishap at sturgis apparently is also all good. I’ve even renewed my car insurance recently, and no increase in my rate or anything. 8 hours in jail a few hundred bucks, slap on the wrist. Incredibly lucky.
Outside of that, I’m....OK. My father passed, tragically, February 19, in mine and my mothers arms. 72 years old. So of course that life-changing event has been and will continue to be difficult.
I started a good job here in Chattanooga TN in January and am enjoying my life here. Getting the bikes ready to ride, planning on spending all of my free time and money at The Tail of The Dragon (normal for me). So, given the employment and quality of moto life here, unfortunately it’s going to likely be years before I get to make another epic trip westward.
Happy to hear from you @Themastermike. Hope all is well with you too!
Sorry for the loss. My mother died 38 years ago. It'll get better.
You might enjoy a plated dirt bike down there. Much elevation. Don't work too much. Utilize your time off!
I think you’re right
