Wow. Lucky or unlucky. Glad you're alright. Bones heal better than other things.

Recovering is on the last stage now - from fast walking to fast running :-)
Night is not the best time for riding in Russia, espessialy in regions with small amount of local motorcyclists

    Day 11-18

The hospital in cossack village Zelenchukskaya.

Two more persons appeared in my chamber. They were local. I got some fresh talking and some homemade food too. My physical condition was good enough to begin short walking.

A girl who turned over in mountains on ATV was brought to the next chamber. Boyfriend biker looked after her. The hospital motor club was created :-).
Local bikers promised to take me out of the hospital to take part in the annual Rally.

I was really enjoying a part of the world I will probably never get to visit. Now I just feel bad for you. Best wishes from the U.S., don't skimp on exercise for your recovery, it will really help in the end. How bad is your bike?

I wish you a full and speedy recovery!

I was really enjoying your report. Spectacular scenery, a sense of the local culture, beautiful architecture and monuments, a pretty girl and, finally and sadly, drama.

Looking forward to hearing of your return to the road soon!

Your photos of objects are witty, and to the point - nice. A lot of ladas - would have thought?

"When it rains it doesn't pour everytime.." That's about as much optimism as I can muster on a good day :-)

Obviously the accident sucks, but the food looks good, you can open the windows, and it sounds like your hospital gang is going to be fun. Keep us posted.

Great to see the riding community coming to your aid. Seems to be a constant no matter where you are in the world.

Looks like some version of heaven - if I get hit by a car, I want it to be in Cherkessk!

That leg rehab device is very cool. Is the black tubing an update or is the white tubing a repair? :-) get well and on the road.

This apparatus is the eighth wonder of the world created by ancient civilization from bones of dinosaurs and the cord from old iron :-)
But it was really useful for upgrade of my leg flexibility

    Day 35

    Cherkessk

In the hospital I was under the watchful eye of a nurse, who told me about wedding plans of her son. He is ... a biker from 09 Legion Motorcycle Club. The probability theory has shown the weak point again :-). I was invited.
It was the first motorcycle wedding in Cherkessk, and we had to put our best foot forward. But the chopper of Gennadiy, the owner of my host home, was uncharged. The accumulator was completely dead. Here is where my broken motorcycle was useful. We came to the Club garage and took a battery. Interesting place at all.

    Cherkessk

Gennadiy washed his bike and headed for the house of the groom. I moved in this direction too, but in the car.

Rain on a wedding day considered good luck. If we can't change a weather we can at least change our thoughts about it :-)

We had a call from police at last. Our way is to Zelenchukskaya to take documents on my accident. A new portion of beautiful mountain views was coming :-)

I was wondering about that, when do you go home? Work, family, has anyone been looking for you? First steps, that is good news indeed!

Don't worry. It was in past . I took additional vacation at work and was online with my friends and relatives. And it wasn't too far - only 1500 km :-).
My friends from russian motoforum have raised money for transportation me with my steel horse on a minibus. A biker from Moscow went on his Sprinter at this time to visit his mother in Krasnodar. They transferred him money for gasoline and accommodation. And he has taken me away on the way back.
I've been in Moscow from October.

Oh, that is great. I was thinking you were trapped someplace far from home and relying on the hospitality of others to get you through. Which seems like it was part of it, but, glad you are home and on the mend. People always step up, it is in most peoples nature. And that is a very good thing!

    Sorry about your crash!

Thank you for sharing this. What a gift to be able to see a part of the world I'll likely never be able to visit.
