I hope no one expects a quality rebuild thread like Hodakaguy or clean work like Geek or any number of talented members here. I'm a hack and I admit it. And this will be glacially slow, with money and talent controlling the speed. So with that out of the way, here we go.

This is Jimmy, former owner helping me with loading the car. Yes, those are Jeep wheels. I had to get them since the tires were shot on three of the wheels. Tread was great on old tires, but all the sidewalls were rotted. Actually, if they fit better, the Jeep wheels look a little like Torque Thrusts, of which I am thinking of going to.

Made it home 3 hours later. Time for a nap.:bore I'll look over everything in the morning.

It's rough as an old cob, but it is relatively unmolested. It even has a toilet paper oil filter. '62 was the last year an oil filter was an option.:loco

Removing old tires from stock rims. Again, good tread, bad sidewalls

    image.jpeg

Had to remove the back seat to get into the trunk, the key didn't work.

Time to see how bad the floors are.

    image.jpeg

This car has the dual heater option, that's the floor heater here.

    image.jpeg

Passenger side is the good side with at least one pinhole.

    image.jpeg

    Drivers side, not so good.

That is a seriously cool car! Always wanted one of these. Love the small block with three on the tree!
What’s the story with the oil can under the hood?
    Congrats and happy wrenching!

I believe they no longer went by those names in those years, instead, it was Hawk and Hawk GT. I'm still new to Studes though.
Thanks, I'll probably muck it up though. :lol3
That's the toilet paper filter can. Check out Frantz Filters. They are bypass filters, low pressure. Basically, they get oil tapped off the oil pressure gauge, through the filter and drains back into a tap into the oil pan, or like mine, the oil fill tube.

Yes, the Borg Warner overdrive. I had added the same type to my Willys pickup and it made freeway driving bearable.

Another cool add on was the trailer hitch.

    image.jpeg

Unfortunately, I cannot remove the leaking fuel tank without cutting some of the hitch off. Bummer.

    image.jpeg

Passenger seat had one of those old fashioned seat covers that preserved the original color of the seats, a shiny taupe color, almost had a pearl to it.

    image.jpeg

Stainless trims cleans up pretty well. Well that's about as far as I've gotten.

You know, I haven't a clue why that little oil can is there, but everything sure did need oiling. :lol3
