"We couldn't do anything about the weather, so we might as well take advantage of it," said Scott Radtke, who was there with his children and wife, Sara. "The kids haven't been out sledding a whole lot so it's one last opportunity, and you know we'll be barbecuing and sitting outside in about two weeks."

I enjoy this quote from the Press Gazette. Here's to hoping!

Was out today a little bit myself. 50 degrees never felt so good.
Road conditions were good for riding. No cinders, sand or salt.

The owners of the Turn Three Brat Stand at Road America are retiring, so the Turn Three Rat Pack met for lunch today. I rode down to the Lake Street Cafe and enjoyed a couple of hours talking about RA. There was an event scheduled there this weekend, but the recent snow forced its cancellation.

You must have stuck to the main roads then because I encountered lots of salt/sand. Main roads and county highways that are major routes were pretty clear but anything less traveled had piles of salt or sand at most intersections. I went down one road in the Kettle Moraine, a county highway even but very low use, that was two track in the sand on the road for a good 5 mile stretch, also it's twistiest stretch of that road too! It was a nice 215 mile ride overall, even with having to deal with a flat rear tire :(

Even the secondary roads were pretty clear. Turn offs had to be approached carefully, of course. I was thinking about heading south the the KMN forest maybe today, but know those roads need a few good rains every year. Thanks for the heads up.

Any interest in a N.E.W. tag game?

I might overlap it with the Fox Valley game.

I did the south and McKenna loops a couple years ago. I thought it was real nice single track.

Black River Falls / Crawford Hills was awesome!

My son and I were there yesterday and did the McKenna and South loop also. Trails are marked up very well and easy to follow. There's plenty of parking just remember to get you Jackson County Sticker before you go ($20) - we stopped at Black River Power Sports on the way.

It would be easier on some of us living in the northern reaches of the Fox Valley game. Too many of the photo tags are 2+ hours away

After the annual CADVR Rally had commenced we rolled over to Conover, near Stormy Lake, to check out the new single track. I'd have to say they went above and beyond getting the trails ready and the infrastructure to make it complete! It's a mix of some trail but mostly loose switchback.... absolute blast!

It's somewhat difficult to find if you've never been there before (or at least it was for us with Verizon service). Hopefully this helps, route from Conover, WI.

I have a GPX map if needed. PM me for it

Yeah guys...looking for somebody that might be interested in tackling part of the NWAT (Mountain to Eagle River and back). Midweek would be preferred. And it would need to be within the next few weeks.

Hit me up if interested. I'd rather not tackle myself but will if nobody is interested.

I'd be leaving from Green Bay.

Out and about, the leaves here close to the big lake are more yellow than green. Starting to see quite a few on the roads here in spots......so heads up with the wet weather the next few days.
Time to get out for some fall riding. This is my last week of "busy season" too.

If anybody is looking for a great route, these tracks by Cannonshot were awesome. Because of time constraints, I wasn't able to ride everything. But the route leaving Chute Pond to the east was mostly forest roads and ATV trails (at least as far as Wabeno). The tracks to the west had more pavement and gravel but some of the forest roads were wicked (water and super slick/sticky mud).
