We stopped to regroup after crossing a main road. Wind was pumping and dust all around us
We got going again. The next moment the road disappeared and it felt like we were riding in the dunes. It all still appeared very cool at this stage and we were all saying how beautiful it looked. A few minutes later it was chaos. I couldn't see 5 metres in front of me, I didn't know where the road was. Was I riding in the right direction? No idea where my mates were...... Cars coming from the front??? Sand in my mouth and eyes.
It was a harrowing experience. I was able to take a couple of pics and a short video before it really got bad......
Lovely pics!!!, great ride!!, South Africa is on my wish list!
I make it to the other side unscathed

We loose another rider when Danie’s 701 destroys a chain

An amazing morning riding from Oewerbos to Steinkopf. Tracks follow the 2013 Amageza Rally route
Brings back loads of memories from my days as a Telkom apprentice in Springbok. Senior and assistant Engineers were big into their 4X4 and we used to criss-cross this area when visiting the more obscure sites.
The office had a Nissan Trekker 4X4, let's just say it was properly used.
The plan in 2015 was to visit some of these sites but then the tooth issue cut a lot of this short.
Advice for those planning a trip out here July to Mid September would be advisable and definitely not on your own.
Summer can be 50C easily and night temps don't go below 30C and if you break down it could be days/weeks before someone will drive or take some of these routes
Seems you were there just before Spring flowers are just starting to show.
