    Close!

This is a rarely traveled road. One end of an old colonisation road but it no longer carries the name of that road. Forms t-junctions with two other colonisation roads.

Opeongo had crossed my mind but it's a little too narrow and rough around the edges. Looks like it's In the area though but I don't recall the names of the side roads.

    You're getting colder now...

eta: Maybe none of you have been up this road? It's well worth a visit....

Another hint: It does have a t-junction with the Opeongo....

Then I have to guess Wilno Rd. S. between hwy 60 (which was a colonization rd. in it's beginning) and as you mentioned, the Opeongo Rd. All of that country is well worth the ride especially in the fall. Looking forward to the answer if mine is incorrect.

    Nope.

Its the Letterkenny road. Photo taken from the intersection of Letterkenny and Rockingham road, looking south.

Letterkenny is the northmost part of the Addington colonization road. Rockingham is the start of the Peterson Road.

Letterkenny also has an intersection with the Opeongo road.

One of my favourite routes up there is to take the Opeongo to Wilno or Barrys Bay for lunch, then take the Old Barrys Bay or the Hopefield roads down to Combermere. From Combermere take the Rockingham road then turn right at the t-junction onto the Letterkenny down to Quadeville. Then take the 515 up to Foymount.

Just watch out for sand on the Letterkenny. Even now there is some especially around the lake. And the Rockingham road is fairly rough, especially the eastern half.

Now, that road up to Wilno is fantastic, if only they'd repave it. There are some wicked bumps at the crests of the hills.

So this more like name that valley, then name that mountain then if your really good, name the old rail road that went over the old trestle, Hint,we are on the border almost.

It is quite the landscape. Did you manage to ride from Haines Alaska to Whitehorse YT as well. Awesome road too.

Never any traffic along there to speak of, even when I rode there in summer months. The Haines to Haines Junction road though has more sweepers if I recall correctly and has spectacular views too.

If you have not rode up north, make it a bucket list ride.
