This is exactly where I'm at.

Even with BRS on I still may not re-up. At some point in my life I need to try some nav rally. I've got all the equipment just sitting in a box.

I've been on the fence for sandblast due to a list of work related things. It's fun, but it's not worth the effort and money to prep a bike for one race. Or is it?

Above is my daily inner monologue.

Math didn't work out for me last year... Same math this year...

I'd bet two beers that BRS isn't happening.

I was going to sell my 800GS after I bought my R1200GSA. That was in 2017 and the Sandblast is why I keep it!

Almost more than anything, I'm just hoping start order makes more sense this year. At best it was a weird and inconvenient power play by MAX. More realistically it was actually dangerous with riders starting in the front 10 getting passed by the entire field.

I had such a hard time finishing the race last year that I don't actually remember much of it.

In hindsight I probably shouldn't have been racing a bike at all.

Last year will forever go down in history as the one time I was faster than @GoGoGavin41 (albeit briefly).

It's like the old saying, even a blind squirrel sometimes gets lucky because the rabbit crashed his 800 lb six thousand hp v twin in deep mud that.

Anyway, I'm sure that the start order had something to do with it. But... did Max provide sponsorship dollars? If not, how come they're deciding? It seemed a little odd but what can you do.

I wonder if Randy Richardson will show up again next year. He should probably start a little more toward the front too.

I don't think I can blame my crashes on start order. Climate change maybe? Big Coal? Trump? Definitely not myself.

I think he lives in NC so I'd be surprised if he doesn't show up again.

If he signs up he should be sporting number 101.

I firmly volunteer to start about 13th in the order because I foresee an 8th to 13th place finish. Preferring to ride mostly alone, or chase rather than lead, I will thrive with this grid position.

Has anyone on here used a Trail Tech Voyager during a rally or enduro? I ask because it looks as though resetting the trip ODO is a multi-button and menu task rather than simply holding down a single button like on any other moto (or vehicle for that matter).

    I have on the beta..

It's one handed, nice and easy.

The custom menus are pretty great for stage rally too.

It's... Back back menu down down enter enter... Or something close to that.

I've been wanting to race sandblast for several years and even have a friend that runs in the car class. But I fall in the broke as a joke class and can't afford 1k for one day. So I've been on the fence about volunteering because if I go I'd want to be racing. But this year I think I should volunteer just to check it out. I'm a licensed radio operator and would like to be involved in that aspect. I also have a 4x4 with a winch and plenty of space for gear or supplies to help others. What's the best way to initiate contact to see if they still need help. I'd be camping so don't need accomodations. I maybe wrongly assume I could just camp with the competitors. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

You can still take Bill’s class if you volunteer.
