You must have read/heard something different than I did. What I read, he owned it. Said he screwed up.

He did say that, but his statement just prior was blaming the RCH cars for dirtying up the air so much that he couldn't get around them. I guess eventually he did though because Penske went 1-2. I just thought it was a lame statement.

I think he was bitching more about the aero package than anything else.

NASCAR managed to make Martinsviile boring last week. Let's hope they aren't successful for Bristol next week.

They've done a good job of making racing look boring, it's like watching traffic.

Thankfully there is Moto GP and SX/MX.

So DW's retiring from the booth at the end of the year. I hope they have someone worthy to step in, those are some big driving shoes to fill.

I wish Darrell the best, but I sure won't miss the most irritating words in motorsports at the start of every race.

    Too bad almost nobody went.

How many seats does that place have?

I noticed that too. Attendance has been down most everywhere for years, but that's just pathetic. Never thought it would happen at Bristol.

I just read that estimated attendance was 35-40,000. That place use to sell out twice a year, year after year. I'm a little stunned. I've been a die hard Nascar fan since I was kid (a loooong time ago) and I know they've mostly lost me in the last few years, but I didn't realize how many other people have lost interest. I wonder why. In my case its the whole chase/playoff/stage racing thing. Its just gotten too gimmicky and detracts from the competition as far as I'm concerned, but I don't think that's why most people have lost interest :hmmmmm

They should paint the seats like they do at Daytona. That fools the TV audience. :jack:imaposer

I'm with ya on the chase crap. A driver & team busts their hump all year to get out front, then come September and POOF, it's all gone. Harvick last year is a perfect example.

Not a Gordon fan, but he would have won something like four more championships under the old format.

And the whiner Kyle Busch wouldn't have won his. That was a set-up from the minute he came back after his Daytona crash & it still pisses me off. Not that he won a championship, but how the rules were "adjusted" just for him.

After last week's penalty/fine/suspension BS, Harvick wins the pole for Richmond. Take that ASSCAR!
