Jimmy Johnson makes it alright with a win this weekend.
He could sure use one.
Godspeed Mike Stefanik.
Just heard the news that he passed in an airplane accident today. If you never saw Mike race, or had the pleasure of meeting him even more so, you missed a great one. Mike was a super smooth driver and having watched him many times, always a fair and clean tactician. A true gentleman and great person. He will be missed. I was fortunate to watch him compete against Richie Evans, another who went too soon. But his most memorable races are against Ted Christopher who also passed in a plane crash a little over two years ago now. While two different people off the track, and on, they were great competitors and put on some spectacular open wheeled competitions. While Mike had hung up his firesuit several years ago, Teddy was still chasing checkers when he passed.
RIP Mike, I am certain you are still on the fast line.
I don't often watch NASCAR, but when I do, it's a road course race. ++ Charlotte 'roval'.
I predict a "wreckathon".
Why...? Oh, I don't care anymore.
I was a nascar fan for years but now with the yellow flags dropped for anything. It use to be if you spun but kept moving it was good. Now it's a yellow flag.
What a drive by Chase Elliott - that is a performance that should go down in the history books with some of those of Kyle Busch and his pops
So, total NASCAR noob, but I got offered a hot pit pass thru my employer for a race in ft worth. I took it, but what does this mean? What would you do?
Meet them. Some are very nice, some are aloof, some are dicks. Same as everywhere else. It will be a good time.
Lazy fuck, you made me google it
A hot pass into the Sprint Cup garage means dodging race cars as they dart in and out of stalls into fire lanes that lead to the track. Getting a hot pass issued is a matter of need. Team members and drivers obviously have a need to be in the garage. Media must be accredited and apply well in advance of race day.
Well, the bad news is you can't buy pit passes, they are only given to sponsors complimentary on behalf of the teams from NASCAR. ... By becoming a sponsor you are given a pass into the world of NASCAR for race week along with having your name or logo traveling around the track at 180 MPH during the race.
My Dad had a hot pass at homestead a few years ago. i think he was a guest of Kurt Busch. He could have cared two hoots about the race but they ended up getting him a chair at the car inspection station so he could watch as the cars all went through. He LOVED it. Doesn't hurt he was a PhD Engineer so the templates and inspections fascinated him. They got hauled around in a golf cart all day. Turned out Kurt was a really nice guy (crew as well).
ADV sponsored NASCAR
A Hot Pass get's you into areas that true fan's would donate a testicle (or ovary) for the opportunity. Up fucking close and personal.
The hot means, you can do so on a "Hot Track" - during race action.
Ya gotta go man , meet the drivers , invite their girlfriends to Cedar Vale
I'm in, 3 other guys from work are going, too. We had to fill out a form and send pics of our drivers licenses. There is a dress code. Sounds like a blast!!
Who would have thought someone named Blaney would be fast on the dirt?
I thought the dirt race at Bristol was great fun. Nascar should do more dirt.
