This is a motorbike forum. All 4WD'ers are clueless, otherwise they'd be on bikes.

The 4wd forums probably have clueless biker comments all the time too.

Thanks for the great RR Nathan :clap
Unfortunately I saw this way too late.
I have just gone through all 81 pages reading it all and taking in your wonderful pics.
I cant remember the last time I went through 80+ pages of anything.
It is a credit to your wit (and your love for giving it to BMW riders):evil, and your photographic skill that kept me just wanting more.

    All the best

    All right. Here we go!

    Highlights

    • Meeting Mary and Renie in Forrest on the Nullabor.
    • The Rankin Stock Route.
    • Walking across the log bridge with David after Elena went swimming, and both of us just began to laugh.
    • Meeting Kris, the mad cycle tourist.
    • Leaving Broken Hill by the back route.
    • And so many more. I'd have to read my ride report again to have a hope of remembering it all.

    Lowlights

    • Crashing near Mount Dare Station.
    • Coen.
    • Broome and the thieving thief who stole my laptop.
    • Riding into Queensland in December when it was crushingly hot and humid.
    • Dropping Elena when I was still banged up from my crash and being unable to pick her up.

    Best Food

    • No idea. It's not that sort of ride report. :lol3

    Worst Food

    • The prawns that gave me hives.
    • Cornflakes with water.

I'm so proud that one of your five posts is to call me gay. :rofl

It just got better each page! I about died when I got to the page where you took Elena swiming on the log bridge. Your photos are really top notch too. I enjoyed the video, but it just doesn't do the whole trip justice in a few short minutes...though maybe good for those with a short attention span. Way to go man. I'm impressed.

Quite the best RR I've read. You have a fantastic turn of phrase and a great eye for photos. Brill.

    Kudos to you.

PS: No, I won't sleep with you. I've got cats.

Awesome, so are you up to doing (Himalayas) Nepal > Tibet on a rented Royal Enfield next year? Something laid back, you know taking plenty of pics, 200-300K's a day, 10:00 start - 16:00hrs finish.

I've been perusing this for about a week at a leisurely pace (it may or may not have been done while at work) on the recommendation of one of the DR threads out there. I just picked up a 99 with 6k miles on the clock and have aspirations of doing something similar (albeit smaller and stateside). Kudos on your good writing, photography, and perseverance, I can't say I would have been able to take it all in stride like you.

Off topic a bit, I'm an ME too (and a similar age I believe, 25), hang in there on the job front, I think things are finally starting to come back. I can probably help you out with one in Colorado, though it appears that might be a bit of a commute :D. Take care man,

    Geoff

This RR is a five star, and so is Nate.
