I saw this, myself and some other guy both called it a fake photo. I had a guinea fowl fly up in front of me at 80MPH. I hit it with a Jeep Cherokee, it shattered nearly the entire windshield, but the bird did not come thru.

    First post on the forum!
Had a nice ride on the byway out to the park.

If anyone goes out this way on the north side of Durham, maybe 30 minutes from the park, there is about 2 miles of dirt public road on Jock Rd(has a small park on it) and Lake Michie Rd(can’t go all the way because of a gate) it’s worth the ride up the scenic byway.

I was going to ride to Lake Norman today. I have a friend that lives in Huntersville, NC., which would have been on the path to Lake Norman, but I learned yesterday, he's overseas right now. So I changed the plan to pick up 4 Parks in the Piedmont Region. That completes the parks in this region. IMG_9018.JPG IMG_9019.JPG IMG_9022.JPG IMG_9026.JPG

Yeah, had a Honda in-line four back in the day, when these came out I couldn’t resist! Solid, unremarkable bike but it does everything adequately, and I can flatfoot it. Don’t ride it often but when I do I remember why.

I thought I would get the VFR out and go for a little ride this past Sunday. Here are pics from Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock.

This was supposed to be a hot day but it was 70 F and pouring, by the lake. Of course I saw the rain 20 miles before the park, but said to myself "why turn around now?" :D Not sure how those folks living there enjoy the beautiful area because the mosquitoes were vicious today.

The weather was perfect in western NC yesterday. I got to ride one of my favorite roads, NC194, from W. Jefferson down to Meat Camp Road.

These summer showers are hit and miss. We were down in the Trenton area yesterday and it was clear blue.

I'm to the point where I can't really reach the rest of the parks, those in your turf, in a reasonable day ride. A camping trip is in my future, just waiting to see how the virus situation plays out.
    Happy trails
