I have never been to Ocotillo Wells before. How is it setup for water?
I am wondering how much water I need to bring.

How about fuel? I am riding the 950 over. Do I need to pack more fuel for the class, or will filling up at the nearest fuel stop be ok. (looks like the nearest one is 14 miles away)

    Thanks

I believe there is fuel at the Blu Inn in Ocotillo Wells.

Hmmmm, 10 gals for people - should be a great party. I may have to reconsider and ride here instead of Baja. How many gallons of gas for vehicles? :lol3

Neduro, maybe this isn't the right place, or maybe its been answered already. But when are you going to be doing another class in SoCal?

Hey All, I won't be coming out to ride for the 11th. I'm working in Arizona for the week, coming home late Friday night, so I won't be getting up early to go riding on Saturday.

Plus, all my bikes are down right now. Sorry !! Don't think you need me to lead, sounds like some of the guys who will be there know the area.

    You all have fun !!

    O.K. guys,

I'm trying to figure out how much food to bring for breakfasts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I know there will be some overlap (i.e. there will be more than 15 ff's on Friday morning that want to eat. Same for Saturday and Sunday. I don't want to run short on vittles, so what do you think? Better to bring too much and spread it around than not enough. Costco run happens tomorrow, so speak up.

P.S. I have two sleeping spots in my trailer for at least Thursday (late) and Friday. Maybe Saturday if I stay the whole weekend. I suppose we can sort it out later.

I'm not signed up for the clinic, but am going to be out there riding on friday and saturday. I know the area pretty well and can lead rides for people that aren't doing the clinic that day.
I plan to join you at the campsite thursday nite.

Do you still have any spots open? If so, I would like to occupy one of them Thursday evening.

    Thanks,

    Mike

My plan is to leave around 6:00 pm on Friday and head out that way... I will be bringing a cooler with Dinner for Saturday night for 25-30 (see menu below) and the steed on the trailer. If anyone else is heading that way on Friday evening, I still have an extra spot on the trailer, let me know if you want the spot...

    Menu:

    Burgers - Beef and chicken
    Onion buns
    Cheese
    Condom Mints:
    -Let-us
    -Tomato
    -Onion
    -Mustard
    -Cat Sup
    -BBQ sauce
    -Mayo
    Potato salad
    Mac salad
    Chips
    "Butt-Load" of stick meat

I will not be bringing any drinks. I figure eveyone will want something different, so unless someone else wants to try and figure it out, people can bring their own drinks.

    Other people bringing stuff:

    Neduro - Skilz
    Dustjunkie - Dinner (Sat)
Road meister - Breakfast (Fri, Sat, Sun)
    Spyder - Grill
Design4D - IR Grill (is this good for grillin' burgers and stuff?), Fry pan, pot, LARGE cutting board
    rstrauss3 - cook surface

    Anybody I missed?

I don't know, after you stiffin' me the last two err uhh three weekends in Baja:deal, We may just have to leave a little early...:evil

BTW, you missed a roughly 530 mile ride with something like 400 miles of dirt last weekend... It was great, riding in Baja with no GPS:eek1 and no map:huh, but a local did draw me a map in the dusty hood of his truck:0-0... "Aqui para motos" the local says, and sends us out the far end of his ranch:wave:ricky...

I did get one picture though, I may have to post it at some time... I took it when we stopped...

Rollin in friday afternoon and stayin till sunday. I'm just bringing a sleeping bag and my wallet, maybe a toothbrush. Just traveling a little light, but I want to contribute my exceptionally skilled cooking labor, knives and some magic spices :evil. Willing to help with breakfast, lunch and / or dinner etc. Also want to go for a little ride on sunday depending on how bad the hangover is :freaky

PM me if you have a spot open for a sleeping bag in a trailer or whatever. I also want to contribute to someone for my share of the beer so I don't have to pack it either.

Being the nOOb that I am, I'm wondering is there some gear that I should or should not be bringing for the clinic & rides? I just realized that all my gear is mostly for street. I don't have an off-road type helmet or boots etc. it looks like I need to do some last minute shopping.

currently riding with joe rocket mesh gear for around town and hot weather and an Arai RX-7 that's pretty beat up. boots are alpinestar effex (the velcro sux ass) I'm sure I can get away with some of it, but if I really need goggles & a chest protector MX boots, I'll find em!

    what a freakin rookie :puke1
