Cd Victoria is ok for an overnight stop but as far as things to see and do right there :snore

For a way-station, you're better off staying at the charming Hacienda Santa Engracia, not all that far away and it is definitely worth the small side trip to find it. I think I can get my hands on the GPS coordinates also, to eliminate any worry about it. Google it or do a search here on ADV and you'll see what I'm talking about. The place oozes old-world Mexico and you will be glad you stopped there. PM me if interested in those coordinates.

The rest of your stops look good but once again, don't wear yourself out. You've been around the block now, so you're wise enough not to turn Mexico into an Adam Richman pizza.

    Hi Patsy!

We were at Xilitla earlier this year. We loved it, including the routes we used getting there and when leaving. What is the Valles area about? Thanks?

You are supposed to be working on you RR that I am following! :lol3 Cd Victoria is simply the route we are taking as are some of the other places listed. No plan to stay there unless it happens to be that time of day. I will look into Hacienda Santa Engracia! As with the trip last Feb/Mar we are mainly touring the country, more interested in seeing the geography of the country and the small town people. We rarely spend time in a tourist areas.

    Donnie,
The area I'm referring to is directly north of Xilitla.I think it's called Huasteco Region. That's where the cave of swallows is.We came into the area through Valles .Many neat things to see in there many cascadas on the El Salto river. We stayed one night at the Tanumal thermal pools about 20 miles east of Valles also stayed in El Naranga right on the river before heading to Xilitla.Lots to see around there.Have a good save trip.

    Hi Patsy!

Is this the same cave that they parachute (base-jump) into?

    Here you go

Despite rumours to the contrary, you can still rappell into Sótano de las Golondrinas - Cave of the Swallows. This is a very recent video - November 2010
