This April '08, Be the FIRST ONE to ride around Nicaragua on a motorcycle.

We are looking for 2-4 experienced riders to join Inte and myself in this unique motorcycle expedition that will take you to the most forgotten parts of Nicaragua in two weeks.

ArticleTitle: Around Nicaragua in 20 Days. Gives a preview of what we are doing. To read it click HERE

The purpose of this expedition is to develop the main route to be use to increase healthcare access in rural communities by an organization that i'm setting up with the help of other advriders. In addition, with this expedition you'll become part of an epic adventure by being the first ones to ride around Nicaragua.

Local media (news papers, magazines, radio and TV) will provide press coverage to document this unique expedition.
In addition, Inte will be doing a photo documentary along the way (check his last one).

    Date: End of April 2008

    Rough Route:
Managua, Chinandega, Jinotega, Puerto Cabeza, Makantaca, Rama, Nueva Guinea, San Carlos, Rivas, Managua

    Length
    : Approximately 2 weeks

    Riders needed:

We are looking for riders that have strong mecanical skills or healthcare skills (paramedic, nurse or MD) or extensive motorcycle adventure experience.

Warning: since this has never been done i cannot guarantee that we will be successful in going around the country by just riding. there is one section that it is not clear from the maps if there is a trail or not (Makantaca to El Tortuguero).
through my family contacts (involved with the current goverment) i'm investigating the safety factor, gas and exit strategies in case of an emergency.

Let me know what questions do you have.... as we get closet i'll post more details.

I'll have bike availables (for rent) and you can bring your own bike if you have the cash to ship it, pay for all the paper work and to leave the deposit... the last guys that shipped the bike to Houston from Nicaragua spent almost 3k.

How much it will cost is still on the works.... but I hope to have that figure sort it out soon.
