Thanks for the Nevada picts...I remember some views from the photos from my TAT ride in 2011
The ADV riding weather in mid-September has always treated us SO DARN WELL!
Another pic from Nevada - The Big Empty.
Good stuff, thanks!
Had to read it again! Awesome! Any chance of you guys sharing the gpx files?
Fantastic! I've poked around northern Nevada on empty pavement but you guys take it to a whole other level.
agreed, great if you could share the gpx files
Motobillb - sorry for the delay, I will PM the tracks to you shortly!
Thanks, Cat. Failure
koa925, the tracks are headed your way via PM! Thanks, Cat. Failure
Our ADV Ride had a large portion of it based on work done by Rocky Mt. ATV - THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE BASE WORK
The rest of our route was put together by Mike R. - along with all of the Hard Maps. Thank you Mike R. !! This site only allows me to put (4) items a time onto my post - the remaining tracks will be added shortly.
From Rocky Mountain ATV/MC:
"Over the last three years, they put together an adventure route in the Nevada desert that shows the varied beauty the state has to offer. To make it more manageable, they split it up into more than one ride. This is the north part of it – a route that travels past old mining communities, out to Battle Mountain, up to the Idaho border and back down to the Bonneville Salt Flats. It takes your breath away on multiple occasions. They call it the Battle Born North ride after Nevada’s nickname: the “Battle Born State.”
We review our Hard Maps several times a day - confirming the route ahead, and often looking for go-rounds For example: This Hard Map section shows Granite Peak has a pretty steep little climb.

Awesome ride report! I lived in Elko and winnemucca for 3 years. I liked it at first, then grew to hate it. now that I live in way north idaho I kind of miss it. it had endless opportunities to explore and the history is all around you. I just couldn't take to the desert and the people.
Thanks for sharing your tracks!
Cat. Failure - Thank you for the update and gpx files!! Really appreciate it.
Thanks a ton for your tracks @Catastrophic Failure! I pulled the GPX files from Rocky Mtn a while back and have wanted to get down that way for a while. Adding your tracks and hoping I can put something together that starts in SE Oregon and routes down to NV to take advantage of these.
So much to see
liv2day, No problem sharing tracks, all are welcome - But be aware that technical difficulty is not shown on the tracks - use at your own risk and check out your maps.
- - - - See how the dotted line goes away on the section just North of Paradise Valley, its where the real riding begins !! and its a long way back around
Thanks for sharing the photo, tracks and commentary. Appears to by a nice challenging remote route that I'd like to ride some day.
Hello from New Zealand !
Thanks for taking the time.
Cheers and best wishes
Where do you find info about this? I have looked all over their website and see nothing. Maybe I overlooked it.------I have gotten links to the dirty devil adventure ride from RM. But also can't find anything about the DDAR on their website.
