Hey Scott, Glad you're still with us.
Yeah, lightning on the prairie is scary, but I can tell you that lightning on the open ocean is the worst. Fear of god stuff there! :yikes

I thought that was you. :wave
How was jolly old what what?

Sounds like a good list, so far.:1drink

Thanks, it was a great ride up the Diamonds, I only wish the stream on the backside was flowing. Next time!

    Thanks, Q :wave
Doesn't that acknowledgement feel good? :rofl

You Idaho guys are completely welcome to tell us what we missed...if you follow through with a name or location of what we missed. :ear
What is that and how do I get there?

    Hi Scribe,
Isn't Bartek funny? That guy cracks me up. :jack

I really can't tell if you're making a joke? I think you meant Nevada. :dunno

    Hi Baggi'tard,
Yeah, all the trails and roads are legal, most are national forest roads.

    Thanks Sherry,
Hang in there, your super secret present is coming shortly...

    Thanks Cabrito,
Glad you're enjoying it. :D Get over to NV!

    Hey Joel,
You guessed it, we get paid in penny slot credits. :lol3

Yeah, I see Homer too - from the very badly drawn version on The Tracey Ullman Show:

Thanks, dave - glad to hear you're enjoying it.
    You'd love Nevada on a 450. :ricky

Ruby Valley Hot Springs or Smith Ranch Hot Springs. It goes by either name. It was to your left across the marsh as you were headed south to Eureka. Didn't you see it? :lol2

    Day 6
    7/26/15
    Eureka to Austin
    245 miles

We woke up on the road leaving Eureka. You know the drill, oatmeal, coffee, hit the trail.:ricky

The morning was full of large, fast, dirt roads.

It was a nice way to start the day. Get the blood flowing and tick off some miles.

The big bikes just eat this stuff up. :ricky

With roads like these, it didn't take long to get south.

    An old farm.

    Entering Six Mile Canyon.

There was still a little water in the stream.

    The charcoal kilns.

The kilns are really cool, but be warned: they are chock full of rodent feces and the smell of urine is a bit overwhelming. :puke1

    Continuing through Six Mile Canyon.

We saw some more collapsed kilns.

There were also lots of healthy looking long horn cattle. Probably belonging to Hot Creek Ranch.

    Just leaving Six Mile Canyon.

Things look really bleak, but looks can be deceiving.

Just around the corner is Hot Creek Ranch and the entrance to Hot Creek Canyon.

Bartek went to check these out.

I think I have exposed myself to Hanta Virus enough in my life.
I'll stay here and just take pics. :nod

    Entering Hot Creek Canyon.

Bartek is watching a large herd of Big Horn Sheep.

There was one male that was twisted up in a fence and flailing wildly. We were hoping he would get free on his own, but everything he tried just made things worse.
We decided to go over and try to free him. Luckily, he got free before we made it very far.
I'm fairly certain Bartek was going to get gored. :rofl

This place is truly an oasis.

Maybe not the palm tree kind of oasis, but it definitely helps sustain life out here.

I spied this guy close to the road.

    Pretty cool!

    Leaving Hot Creek Canyon.

We got a tasty little treat leaving the canyon. :evil

Could've used a bunch more of this

Just when we were starting to have fun, it was over. :cry

After Hot Creek Canyon we followed NF 093 trail to NF 324 on our way to Belmont.

The trail would come and go.

It was a fun area, none the less.

Bartek saw the perfect line and let her rip! :super

This trail is reminiscent of the "5 miles of sand" section of the TAT (near Baker NV).

    So much fun! :wings

Looking across the valley towards Belmont.

    Entering Belmont.

Bob, this one's for you. I know we've given you this one before, but...
There are only so many old fire engines out there. :dunno

Time for a cold one! :beer

Thanks, Baggi'tard! Aw, your household sounds wonderful!
My poor bunny hasn't had much luck with friends. My sister brought her cat to visit and I hoped kitty and bunny would be pals.
No such luck. The cat was being such a jerk (growling, hissing, swatting the bun), she had to be punished. :nono
I made her a carrot hat. Bunnies love carrots.

Haha, just another gratuitous critter pic for Ladybug, see below :D

    How about TinyWan?
The kitty can be VeggieWan. :rofl

OK, SPOT maps for Day 6.
    Starting off in the morning...

Wan reports are so much fun. We get to see interesting places, learn NV has lots of cool stuff to see, and Bartec's riding videos scare me but he is having so much fun.

Nice little toad at the ovens and those Big Horn sheep are awesome. I'm glad the guy got untangled before the two of you got to him. I don't think that would have ended well.

TinyWan is good and VeggieWan made me laugh. That's kitty abuse if I have ever seen it. :jack

I thought you would like that section leaving Hot Creek. It was fun.

    :clapHello fellows,
Matt, as usual well written RR. Videos and music are great. It is a fun to reminiscent about Nevada. Such a great place for Adventure riding. Matt tweak some of the videos , because we always ride slow, responsible and safe.
