",,,flowy,,,", as in "things got flowy by the river." I think I'll interpret that to mean - hauley-assy, from that video. This has been an abso-friggin-lutely outstanding ride repot so far and I'm looking forward to the rest.
And oh yeah, feliz cumpleanos, Kelly.

The new words Matt and Kelly teach us during their ride reports are part of the Waneze language. Learn it, use it, and you will be well served. Be sure to enjoy the tilt as you are getting flowy and if you can't enjoy it make it your favorite. I'm still working on making sand my favorite.

Big Wan you're making me want to head to Nevada. Each time I go to Nevada I look at the side dirt roads and want to go explore. Now you are giving me even more incentive to go.

Little Wan, you are so awesome. I love your spying skills and the part search to keep Matt rolling is beyond the top. Every man should have a wife like you. You are so supportive even when you aren't there you still do everything you can to make the ride a good one.

Hurray Wans and the great reports you do. :clap

Little Wan is a keeper that's for sure. And tilt - yep get that, so does that make tricky sand tand?

It's probably already been asked but .... Does little Wan have any unmarried sisters?

Fantastic job on finding the part, Little Wan!!! :clap My riding partner calls his wife for info as well. Nice to have someone to call that can get you out of a jam.

I thought Matt carried all sorts of replacement parts. Maybe that was only for the longer trips or Mexico ones. Bet he takes one on the next ride.... One of my other riding partners always carries wheel bearings--and we have stopped to install them too.

I'm a little late to the party but I was thrilled to see another Wan report. You guys are the gold standard. Question: Do you do anything special to your riding boots to make them (extra) waterproof? Or, are they pretty good right out of the box? After enduring about 4 hrs. in the rain the other day, my "waterproof" boots had about a 1/2 a cup in each one. The socks I was wearing will never be the same:kboom

Wow - that was pretty ballsy trying to make SLC with a failing fuel pump, I imagine you probably didn't have a choice.

    Hi bigdon,
Better late than never, glad you made it!

I was afraid that song was a little too on the nose, but I knew some of the more "experienced" readers would enjoy it.
    I thought it worked.

Thanks buddy, no really - thanks! :fpalm

Yeah, riding light is So important if you want to enjoy the ride. We still think we carry too much.

    Hi dickosaurus,
    It's great to see you. That's a good one - "hauley-assy."
    :imaposer

Sherry, you're funny and very kind.
We are always looking for the more difficult trails and roads to ride, but so much of NV is on the easier side of things. I think it a great place to go exploring.
You may want to bring a friend in case I'm totally wrong. :D

I think we should all agree that LittleWan is average, nothing out of the ordinary. Please tell her she's an adequate wife, doing exactly what all other wives do.
That way her head won't get too big. Being as it's worth its weight in gold and all...

See above :lol3 I couldn't think of anything funny about sand, but I'm not alone. Am I?

    Welcome, FlyingPenguin!

You know, I checked all the bearings before the ride, they seemed fine.
I guess there's no way to know how they're really doing. I stupidly chose to leave the bearing at home.:dunno

    Hi Rotator,
Thanks, I treat my boots with Sno Seal when they are new, but they aren't waterproof to begin with. I go to great lengths to avoid getting my boots soaking wet.
Sometimes it just can't be avoided though.

Thanks, glad you're still with us.

    Day 4 continued,

We left the Bruneau River behind and started the climb up to Jarbidge.

Riding this ridge is just pure nirvana.

    I'm feeling nice!

I feel bad for freaking Bartek out about this decent into Jarbidge. I had read how incredibly steep it was.
And how no one can ever take pics on it because it's too difficult.
I told Bartek to expect a tough, steep decent and I didn't know much else.

    Getting closer

He really took it to heart and his adrenaline was pumping.

Bartek stopped here for a break. :augie

    In the worst of it.

    Looking back up.

    Looking down the trail.

Turns out getting into Jarbidge this way is pretty thirsty work.

The first thing we did in town was try to get gas. No joy, the pumps wouldn't accept our cards.
A friendly passerby said he saw Dennis (the guy who works at the station) heading down to the dump with a few beers and that he should be back in 30 mins. or so.

We decided to get a couple of beers of our own and maybe some lunch.

Ahhh... that's the stuff. All is good. :beer

Don't worry, Bartek is smiling on the inside.:photog

From where you left off before, by the river, I was wondering which way you were going to drop into Jarbidge. And it is the hard way! Awesome!

    And another great video! Sweet.

PS. Scott rode his DR650 up and down that grade this year. (He was just going to ride up to see what it looked like) :jack Yeah right. I knew he would be going to the top!

Big Wan, how about sharing what you packed for this trip. Still amazes me the minilmist amount on the back of your bikes. I suppose one of the tricks is not duplicate what your riding partners have.

    muchas gracias, dickosaurio!

aw, thanks, Sherry. Hope I spelled your name right on that check!
I think that you (and the other women reading this report) would have tried just as hard as I did.

But Matt and I had the funniest conversation about your comment. I said, "don't you think most wives would have done what I did?"
and he said, "Nope. I think most wives would have looked at their phone, sent the call to voicemail, and said, 'Enjoy the desert, motherf---er!'"
    :imaposer
I hope he's wrong, but it still made me laugh so hard.

Thanks, MrKiwi! He has no choice at this point, but it's nice to have your vote of confidence. :D
    I love your avatar!
Also, I think you and Ladybug can probably come up with much more colorful names for Sand if you put your heads together! :evil

    Hi dino702!
haha, I've been asked that in the past, and I previously said I don't pimp out my sister.
    BUT, she's getting older now...:lol3

I should warn you that we are nothing alike. She's not into riding and gives me a hard time about how dangerous it is. :rolleyes
She's into shopping and collecting purses and folding clothes perfectly...
If that sounds good to you, PM me your OK Cupid info.

Ahoy, RumRunner! welcome to Petey the Pirate's funtime pizza palace!
:roflI don't really know 24 very well, but I remember Newsradio and Mr. Show.

OK, I just read the wiki to refresh my memory - Chloe sounds awesome! Thank you! :gdog

You guys are so nice. That was fun.:webers

OK, back to the SPOT maps...

This was around 2pm (california time)

    Closer up
    [IMG]

    and, down into Jarbidge
    [IMG]

I did the usual zoomed in, spying on where they ate lunch close ups, but you guys are probably tired of those.
