After I saw it I decided it wasn't something I wanted to try. Like others I'm not a fan of pod filters. And like alot of people I don't need more HP. Looking forward to seeing something new with us riders and our needs figured in from the start.

Was it pod filters or a panel filter? I tried pods when I first got an LC8,,,, didn't like the setup. Then fabbed a box that took a panel filter, it went in the trash pretty quick.

It was a set of stepped oval plates that sandwiched in a filter like most us cars had in the 70s. You know open the hood and it has a wingnut on top of the filter housing. One bottom then filter then top plate with one or two studs holding it together. Not sure how it mounted other than how the plates are with a Rotti etc. I too am not a fan of everything being only supported by the vel stacks.

It was a crude attempt or hell I don't know it could have been the prototype to the DNA kit. It looked sorta like this but crude with a napa car filter. AK-KT9MK1-S3.jpg

I’m waiting to see this air cleaner.

I used some of the space where the OEM air box is for my starter relay and a fuse block so am running a foam filter but maintenance is a little painful.

Got a photo of where you put those components? Overall footprint of our filter system is smaller than the ITG and it’s biased forward slightly rather than being centred over the length of the carbs / throttle bodies (hint: tall filter body even for the SE) :)

Will you be offering a "snap out glove box kit" for the ADV?

No sir - can’t think of any way to improve on what Rottweiler made for the snap out.

Here’s a pic. Starter relay is visible on the right. The small fuse box isn’t - it’s in the top frame triangle on the left side - to access it you just cut a zip tie to the frame and pull it out so I need to have the room in front of the air cleaner to access it.

No issue at all with where you’ve got them relocated.

I dig your relay relocation, did you finagle the stock starter cables or did you make new ones?

I came up with a solution that's 3d printable that reduces the fasteners from twelve to two. (wip so no files yet)

Paying attention to this thread and very interested in seeing the results.

How about stocking a few for one stop shopping? I'm 67.472% kidding as I have an idea that that is a lot of work for little to negative gain on your end.

I made new cables from welding cable as the battery is relocated under the seat where the ABS used to be. IIRC the +ve and -ve cables aren’t any longer than OEM but they are a larger gauge now. Then regulator is behind windscreen on right side where horn used to be.

    Interested!

    Just purchased a 2011 990 SMR

Do you think your idea will fit the SMR?
