Finally! Here is the bike I will use for my Mongolian adventure riding come Spring. It's a new 2013 Yamaha AG200E. I can't wait for the warm weather! Waiting in Ulaanbaatar, Pete
New bike, old technology . . . .:eek1 . . . Made in Mongolia, or China ? Looks like no fun to change your gearing ! . . . . A bash guard for the chain guard ? ? ? Have fun ! ! ! Post up some pics out riding.
Are an expat living/working in Mongolia? If so how are you arranging the title and registration/licensing. I may be in Mongolia working for a few weeks in Apr/May. If there was any way to buy one of these Yamahas and ride it for a month or so, or even take it out of the country to the 'Stans and beyond then I'd be very interested.
No problem to register a bike in Mongolia, but you must be a resident, if you are here for a short period you could rent a bike its a few companies doing rental
All paperwork in terms of titling/licensing is being done by the Yamaha dealer. There would be no problem to buy a bike from them in April or May. Drop a line whenever you get here and I'll put you in touch. Their new website may be up by then.
Pete That's an excellent choice for a bike. I have always admitted the tough simplicity of them. Never owned one but I think they make perfect sense. Looking forward to your adventure.
G'Day, Looks like more Yamaha models are available, WR's in the back? Whats the going rate $$$'s for DS / Offroad bikes in UB? How about non Chinese bike parts, easily available for the bikes? Been for decent ride out yet? -18C today in UB ~ fresh and chilly by the looks of it .
