Here is a link to our site showing the plug for the new Expedition sidecar. The plug shown is for the left side mount version. The right side mount version will be out in a few weeks. This mounts on our M72DX or M72CX chassis and comes standard with a brembo disk brake, windshield, full carpet, cloth tonneau cover and heavy duty rear luggage rack as well as every thing else standard for the M72DX including bike specific mounting hardware.
In time we will also offer a hard locking tonneau cover, soft top and a hard top.
It is hard to tell in the photo's but we took the stock DX body and lowered the floor both ahead and behind the frame to hide the sidecar frame. This makes for a deeper trunk and more leg room. We also raised both the front end the rear for more leg room and a larger trunk area. We also reshaped the trunk lid quite a bit. The hinge for the trunk lid will be part of the standard heavy duty luggage rack.

We have these on special for the month of August 2013 to introduce them. They will list for $7495 for this month only $6500

    Hey Jay,
You used to offer an auxiliary tank to go under the M72 chair (don't see it listed on your site now).
Is that something that you're no longer doing, and if you are, will it work with the lower floor of the Expedition? Assuming there's a fiberglass bulkhead between the seat and trunk, does that mean a tank can't go under the seat and extend into the trunk?
    Thanks,
    kip

Every option for the M72DX is either standard or we still offer it for the Expedition, We have separate brake pedals for the R1100GS, R1150GS, R1200GS but not at this time for the R1200GSW, The next one we build (bike is on order) we will work this out.
The sidecar its self has been developed such that the same frame works on the R1100GS up through the new R1200GSW so if a person wants to change to a newer bike over time all they will require is the bike side mounting hardware.

Looks really good Jay. Definitely a step up from when I saw it last. :clap

When do you think you'll be able to make the shaped tops for it that you were talking about? Looks like with those edges, you're hoping to drop it right down atop the car? :ear

We should be able to make the three tops we are planning some time next spring. There will be a hard locking tonneau cover, a hard top and a soft top.

[IMG]after some delays both the left and right hand mount version of the expedition sidecars are in full production with the first shipping next week. More photo's will be posted next week when the first one is final assembled. The introductory price of $7495 is only good until the end of March then it will be $7995. Right now lead time is about 4 months however we just added an additional 2500 square feet of shop space, purchased more equipment and hired more staff. So lead times may be dropping soon.

[IMG][IMG]ums/s360/dmcsidecars/LHExpPhoto's of the first left hand mount Expedition sidecar are now up on our home page www.dmcsidecars.com and more will be posted today.
The bike this sidecar is installed on is a 2012 R1200GS Rally edition.
These sidecars are on sale for $500 off until the end of the month. The first right side sidecars are being built right now and photo's will be posted soon. We are building a demo on an 2014 R1200GSA that will have all 3 wheels interchangeable and carry a spare tire as well.

    Thanks

The way we are making all three wheels interchange is fairly straight forward as right now the sidecar wheel and the rear wheel interchange if it is on a BMW R1200 as our hubs for our sidecars have not only the automotive bolt pattern on them, they also have a BMW bolt pattern. On my bike we are going to have it set up with two different sets of wheels. One set up for off road with stock BMW wheels and knobby tires as this also looks great when we are paying for space in a show both. The other set up will be more for road use with 3 automotive wheels. To install the automotive wheel on the rear of the bike we make an adapter ring. On the front of the bike we are building a custom front end with a hub that will also have both bolt patterns. More details will be worked out next week as we are waiting for brake parts from one of our vendors before we commit to the final design.

last weekend for the sale price of $7495, Tuesday the sidecars introductory price will be no longer offered.
Most that we have built so far have been shipped. Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. Next week we are installing one on a local GS, the following week we are doing another on a local GS with custom paint work and a third on a GS the following week so we will be able to post more photo's soon. All of the other Expeditions being built in the next few weeks are being crated and shipped.
We also offer this body mounted on our M72CX chassis and fender. The first done this way is going on an FLH in Australia.

That really REALLY looks good!! I'm eager to see any tops you eventually make, I think that was one of the main points you wanted to address. Looks good with the cover, any ETA on a detachable/convertible cover?

As we are developing a few new models of sidecars right now and just moved fiberglass in house, it will be about 6 months before we develop any new fiberglass stuff for the Expedition.
