My Bullet 500. Packed and ready for departure last Friday morning. Destination the SR500 Rally in Bethanga, Victoria. Got back yesterday afternoon after a great weekend. A round trip of about 900K's. The Bullet cruised at 95-100kph and did not miss a beat.

That sounds more like it. My '07 Bullet has a TLS front drum brake, and it's a very effective stopper. Oil or grease could have leaked onto the brake shoes,too-I'd pull the front wheel to check it out.

Great bikes. I bought one last year and it’s one of my favorite bikes in the stable. Fun to ride, no maintenance issues. It can keep up with the bigger bikes up to about 80 mph.

We order our service items online from Royal Enfield of Fort Worth Texas. Other than oil, filters a battery and tires we haven't needed anything for Mrs. Mudds Enfield.

Nearly time to truely test out Winnie, 350 classic. Over the next month she will do some 9,000 plus kilometres thats over 5,500 miles, and that's not in the trailer. All the best for Christmas and the new year regards Beetle. image.jpeg

Have a good run to you, Winnie and all the crew involved, looks like it is cooling down for the trip across we were expecting 40deg tomorrow.
Will catch up on the run somewhere.

I'd love one but I don't think I could justify spending as much on a used bike that's nearly time traveled from the 1950's as I did on my car.

If you really want one then look for a used 2009 and later with an EFI Unit engine. The frame and forks are mostly the same as the pre unit bikes but the shocks are gas over oil and the swing arm is lengthened. Engine and brakes are way better. Its more 1978 or 1989 really.
