I use the same ICU. The advance mechanism is in the can.
Weight in grams:
Price in euro's:
What's your experience with it?
Not much yet.
Please read #59.
RJB, your dealer is greedy. On shop-bmw-classic the recommended retail price is :
1 Zündimpulsgeber 2413906 395,33 € VAT included
And all order above €75 benefit from free shipping all across Europe...
I think official dealers work with fixed prices....
I have a discount at my dealer since I have bought a lot of bikes and parts there. The price on the decal is not what I paid.
And besides this: I could return the part if it didn't work.
RJB write from Holland,
In USA traditional policy is no returns on electrical parts.
In Holland this is also the policy but exceptions can be made.
I didn't even pay yet.
Well there is a warranty in E.U. So I bet that the BMW shop will take your part back even if it is an electrical part... Maybe they will check it before giving money back, but I bet they will be legally obliged...
BTW, I bought parts sold in lot and the system told me I had to buy 6 of them (so many many more than needed).
They sent me a return ticket PDF for DHL express shipping for free and gave my money back as soon as they got the parcel..
All in all a very satisfied customer given that the local dealer is not at all interested by old airhead bikes.
I dig this unit for the functionally irrelevant fact that it is shallow enough that you should be able to use an early points style front cover if you wanted to.
I'm organizing a group buy for the Dutch GS forum. Hope to get the price down to € 350.
It's probably not interesting for people overseas due to shipping / custom costs? If it is, feel free to join.
The issue for overseas is getting the VAT deducted, customs fees rarely get added for these coming to the US anyway
Thats not bad to the UK, I'm interested! (assuming they work!)
It works on my bike. Much better than the old version.
I can't garantee the it works. Since you're not in Holland it is not easy to help and deliver proof to my dealer if the part is not right. Of course I will try but money back (or new part) is only possible if the dealer is willing.
PB me if you're interested.
Most of us know that there were numerous variants of the ICU module since 1980-- could this be a reason the new Bosch bean can is behaving differently on different bikes?
Why didn't this issue materialize in design and test of the new can?
I’ve ordered 15 sensors and organized an airhead meeting at my house:
10 pieces were mounted and none of them gave a problem so far.
All bikes seem to run good (better) with the new part.
Great looking shop and bikes! Are you going to ship these to USA? JT
Yes really nice and smooth tru the revs. Thanks!
And less weight
