2016, though I think that's the same police rack/radio box mount for many years.

How do you guys get the Police version? Can you just order one from HD that way, or at least order a part such as the rear rack?

You can buy new/unregistered Police bikes that are converted to civilian specs after they've been at the dealer for x amount of time (and usually for a good bit less than a civilian model, like $5k less or so). It might not be until the next year's models are introduced or something like that.

And yes, I suspect you could just buy the radio box rack if you already had a civilian model, but no idea on pricing or if you might need something else too.

I have your 34 liter top case and rack on my 2012 BMW G650GS. I
It has the four quick turn fasteners. What would I need to do to upgrade to the newer style with your regular single quick disconnect.
    Thanks.
    Tom.

    Hi Tom,

It would be difficult with the older version of the 34L case. You would be shaving the ribs off the bottom of the case in several areas. Also, the plate you have does not have the two forward flange bushings in the right place. and on this particular bike I don't think you have room on the plate to move them forward.

Can I order a few pieces of hardware to replace the stuff I have? I only need the spacers that the case latches into at the front and the latch that the case locks onto. My bike lives outside and these three pieces don't look so hot anymore. Thanks.

Just mounted Caribou 35 liter Storm cases on my new 2018 KLR 650 this weekend. Great rack system; great cases!

Those red crash bars really make the KLR look good. Caribou cases do a nice job too:) Thanks for posting.

Dumb question: are there no top case systems for the ATAS? All the top cases on the website have the "for the Honda Africa Twin CRF1000L (not Adventure Sports model)" language in the description.

There are no dumb questions. Well, actually there are but this is not one of them. The problem with the Adventure Sports model is the small tubular rear tail rack. There's really not a good way to bolt our plate down to it. However, our top case kits use the same quick attach/release hole pattern as Givi (as does SW Motech and a few other rear cargo plate manufacturers).

Everything is ready, except we need to take a couple of photos. Since you are close to Boulder, do you want to help us with the photos?

Thanks for the update and good to hear the top case is ready to go for the 790 Adventure. Unfortunately I’m still waiting for KTM to ship bikes to my dealer so probably won’t have the bike for another month or so.

My bike is at the dealer being built and I'll get it sometime in the next 4-5 days if you still need help with photos of the top cases for the KTM 790 Adventure.
