A picture of the navigator and label would help us help you bootshd!
Ok here is a couple of photo's of the TomTom, not good photo's but photo's.....
What I am looking to do is change the Home Location and get something that would let me use it in the house so I could play with it to lean more......
Try this manual http://download.tomtom.com/open/manuals/rider/refman/TomTomRIDER_US.pdf
Damn, you guy's are good. Got my Home Location changed and saved the manual to my documents.
Now for the next thing. Sound. I guess I need to get some kind of helmet speaker or something to here this TomTom. I am guessing like a V6 intercom with a headset ?
So my use of gps has been just bought maps on a car tomtom which has died now. I like the look of the new rider 400 ,it says you can load it with gpx files, does that mean I can access the Garmin type maps. May be a stupid question

If the TomTom supports GPX tracks, you can share tracks with Garmin users. You cannot share maps.
Will the TomTom run Topo Maps ? I use them in my Jeep all the time but my Jeep has a Garmin Trail Guide unit...
This question is probably best answered by TomTom themselves. Do they even have topo maps available? I can't say I've ever heard of any.
I've just ordered a 400 and I'm travelling with an apple laptop. If I'm using say furkot to create routes and exporting the gpx files onto an sd card will that work ? Presumably you can still dl the map updates onto a Mac ?
The TomTom Wings (rider) 400 will except both .itn and .gpx routes and tracks.
You can transfer them via USB if furkot allows that, the same way that Tyre will, or you can copy them to a SD card, place the SD card in the GPS then transfer them that way. Hope that helps. If you need more info let me know.
