Hi Hilly87, PM sent.
Thanks guys for all your help. I have been working away the last few weeks so have not been able to get on the forum.
@oldbeer, thanks for all the advice! I did not think of a lot of the option you thought of. I think you are right too, I need to ride the bike myself, so, might take you up on the ride around when I arrive :). I'm quite interested in a DR650 that's listed on trademe at the moment in Auckland. I have emailed them asking them to un-block my account as I will living there shortly - fingers crossed!
Thanks again everyone!
Happy to help if i can.
I saw that one. Looks nice. You will probably find one with less kms but all those farkles are tempting.
You might find the owner on here or on adventureridingNZ.
Here's a link that works: https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/mo...65.htm?rsqid=9aa11599cca844829d326685a48b1d12
Several members of the Adventure Riding NZ facebook group have been looking for 1 of those recently
I actually bought a motorcycle on my second day in New Zealand (Dec. 8), and have been doing a lot of riding. However, I'll need to sell it before I head back to India on Feb. 13, so if anyone is interested in a good used bike (practically new), let me know.
Hyosung GT 250
starting mileage 2266 kms
expected final kms 6000 or so
WOF good through June 2019
Asking $4000 OBO
As you can see from the mileage, this bike was practically new when I bought it. It is a 2010, but was showroom perfect. (Not so much any more. I've been riding a LOT. But it's never been down and is basically just now broken in. Just kinda dirty.)
I'll throw in a like-new helmet (don't want to carry it to India.)
I'm in Taradale house sitting, but the owners are due back Feb. 6 and I'm hoping to make a very quick trip to the south island before returning to Auckland to fly out very, very early Feb. 14. If there's transport from where I can drop the bike to the airport, I'll bring it to you.
I've got a NZ sim card so if anyone is interested, PM me and I'll get back to you.
First things first, im pretty sure that's a GT250 and not a GT250R. The R model has a fairing and clipons.
An indicative/aspirational selling price would help.
Secondly i couldn't see it on TradeMe. If you haven't already done so i strongly recommend you list it there. Id be very surprised if you sold through the flea market here. I wouldnt rely on it.
If you need any assistance with trademe let me know.
Cheers and good luck.
I tried to put it on TradeMe, but I'm not from NZ, so they wouldn't accept me. (Even though I put in all local info.) That's why I'm here.
Sorry about the mistake on the name, it's fixed. So is the price. Wasn't sure I should put that in. I just hate to leave the bike sitting at the airport when I leave, so I'm hoping I can sell it somehow.
Request to join the facebook group 'MOTORBIKES FOR SALE NZ'
It has 48k members and lots of activity so a good option if you run out of other ideas :)
Thanks for the suggestion, but I’m not on FB and I’m getting help from a long-standing member here to put it on TradeMe.
FOR SALE: 2006 APRILIA PEGASO TRAIL
This is the one with the Yamaha 660 motor in it and is a brilliant little adv bike.
Seat height is low and it's a LAMS bike.
It belongs to SBSP, he brought it from Aussie a couple of years ago.
By the way the person above sold their Hyosung for a good price and while i don't know the details im betting they saved a heap on a hire scenario.
One more example of "buy one when you get here" working well.
Get a quote from your local muffler shop
Where is it located? Maybe a local inmate can help you out.
Found one yet? I can start looking around here....
I have a spare Vstrom seat for sale. Fits a 2008 model so most of the earlier models - defo does not fit the 2018 model!! I bought this from a wrecker on TM to faff around with the seat height, while not stuffing up the stock seat. The KTM wannabee cover is stapled on, comes off with a bit of effort and a screwdriver, pair of pliers to pull the staples. Making a new cover once you have remoulded the seat to your taste is not difficult with a conventional sewing machine. I made paper patterns and bought vinyl material at $10 a metre - cheap enough for a few fails. In fact Ive got lots left over. Used all the orange but!! Its a bit of fun tbh.
Its on a $1 auction, no bids yet. If anyone is interested they can pm me and we can do a deal. I think the courier charge when I bought it was around $20.
Actually, that seat will fit any '02-'12 DL1000 as well as any '04-'12 DL-650.
ABS or not...all the same!
Also selling two stock sets of XR650R rear wheels. 1x well used, 1x very good condition. PM if interested. Tyres included, some tyres used, some brand new. Offers once we talk so I can show you the kit :)
Red is for sale
1998 Honda XL600V.
