Seriously one of the best RR's on ADVrider
Looking forward to more, wish you were headed to Saffa land, it really does have some great riding and motorcycle community

Thanks for the positive comments mate.
Who knows perhaps I'll get itchy feet once I'm done and think about heading that way.

I agree on the wanting more. I was looking for the picture of your bike with the hot air balloons the other day and got caught up reading through some of your RR again. It's for sure my favorite RR and its been fun to follow along. I'm sure you're excited to get back to NZ but when you get that itch to go somewhere again I'll be stoked to follow along!

M3 was ridden by Hein in Motonomad 2.
I have chatted with Hein over the last couple years or more throughout my travels.
He spent the last summer with his wife touring Europe on a BMW.
It was great to meet in person and I stayed at his place a couple nights.
Unbelievable hospitality and it was really great to swap travel stories along with watching the Motonomad 2 movie with him as I had never seen it before and hear about some of the behind the scene stories.
I watched with Google maps open so we could piece together his route as we heard some of the towns mentioned.
He wasn't even sure of the exact route.
They weren't allowed the GPX file after and were never told at the start of the day where they were heading.
    Crazy really.
I feel he got a bad rap in the movie a bit as if you look closely he was carrying all the camera gear with a much bigger bag on the bike and his backpack yet supposed to keep up and get through the same terrain.
He has done roof of Africa etc and a very solid rider.
Don't get me wrong he wasn't complaining and I'll keep some of the stories to myself but I wouldn't of been impressed had I had to put up with some of the stuff that went on.
Let's just say the fact he had to pay for the movie and not even get a free copy speaks volumes.
Today I dropped my bike off at the cargo place.
    I fly out Friday.
Yeah the RR is coming to an end but on the brightside I never did it while I was traveling through NZ so we have all that to look forward to right!

Rough plan is to head to the top and then to the bottom. There is a guy from the Netherlands that was roughly a month behind me through Asia and he was going from Zeeland to Zealand. His bike is also turning up next week so we may ride together for a while.
I am getting some route info from others here in NZ but really the last couple days has been catch up with friends and family, walking up the mount and tomorrow heading to the Coromandal camping and fishing with some mates for 4 days.

Great read Aaron, wondering if you have any thoughts looking back on the trip of things you would do differently knowing what you know now?

I could of spent more time through South and Central America.
The thing is as you know I didn't start out with the intention of doing all of this so I did it with the mindset and information I had at the time so in that respect I think I did it right at the time.
The reason I got to Oregon quickly was because I wanted to snowboard and look for work and that's what I did.
What I did do right is slow down after Morocco and not push through that year to Vladivostok.
No regrets therefore no big changes.
