So I think by this photo you can tell I got lucky with my choice in where I picked to camp.
This was such a fantastic experience to wake up 1000659-01.jpeg and watch.
I got such a bigger kick out of it than I thought I would.

Wow man...what a great picture and I bet an even better experience! I hope this new advrider frontpage thing where they post interviews of advrider inmates has an interview with you posted and this picture prominently displayed. Very cool.

That's frickin' killer man! I bet it sounded nuts with all those burners being kicked on; is that what woke you up? Did you have any idea all those balloons were going to be floating when you picked that campsite?

Super cool shot @Aaron.S, one of the best from a whole bunch of outstanding pictures. Have you considered getting some of them published? I know most everything's digital now, but truly - some of the pictures you've posted deserve to be in a printed book...accompanied by stories. You really do need an autobiography from this journey :-):-)

20180912_153304-01.jpeg 20180912_153304-01.jpeg 1000700-01.jpeg 20180912_131412-01.jpeg 20180912_151709.jpg I've spent the last couple days just looking around this area.
    The landscape is just amazing.
There are 4x4 and quad bike trails all over the place so it's been really fun exploring the area.
The old girl gave me a scare yesterday though as I just popped a little wheelie up a hill and when the front came down she pretty much died.
    Then didn't start.
I was about 300 meters from my hotel so I pushed it there.
I couldn't believe it I was so close to the 100000k mark.
How could she breakdown on me now?aghhhh!!
It was nearly dark so I didn't think there was much I could do but I just had a feeling it seemed like a fuel issue.
I thought I would quickly check the inline filter by the quick disconnect and low and behold it didn't quite look right I pushed it together and heard a click.
Pressed the good old go button and she fired up.
    I was so damn happy.
So we might just make it yet my friends!!

Damn those are some cool pics. Nice job!
That fuel connection failure shows up a lot with FI bikes; seems like every week or so there's a "root cause" story ending with "I felt it click together, then the bike started right up"!

    Stunning images @Aaron.S. :thumb:thumb

Not to sound ignorant, but are (were) those dwellings in the stone structure? Any info you have on who lived there, when, etc? Those are seriously neat.

That landscape is surreal, looks like something out of Dr. Seuss :D:D

Yes. Google Cappadocia in Turkey or YouTube it's history.
It's very interesting and they have a labyrinth of underground cities as well built by the Christians later on in history avoiding the Roman's persecution.
But first inhabited 1000 plus years before that and by different people over the years.

A bit of reading from wikipedia, talk about a seriously cool piece of history you experienced in person:

Sedimentary rocks formed in lakes and streams and ignimbrite deposits that erupted from ancient volcanoes approximately 9 to 3 million years ago, during the late Miocene to Plioceneepochs, underlie the Cappadocia region. The rocks of Cappadocia near Göreme eroded into hundreds of spectacular pillars and minaret-like forms. People of the villages at the heart of the Cappadocia Region carved out houses, churches and monasteries from the soft rocks of volcanic deposits. Göreme became a monastic centre in 300–1200 AD.

Must be something to stand in front of dwellings that people occupied that long ago.

    It really is.
I spent the day going to the open air museum and different areas yesterday.
I really enjoy looking at the artwork on the walls seeing the story they are telling and in general trying to get a idea of what they wore how they depict themselves etc.
I've really enjoyed this area and would so highly recommend it to anyone visiting Turkey.

Well no photos today but we are one step closer to the big 100000k as I clicked over 99000k.
It was really windy today and luckily most of it was a awesome tail cross with only about 100k of shittyness inbetween.
That's one thing the bike sucks at is head wind.
I have to do the chin on the bar tuck.
    I'm now in Gaziantep.
I'm not sure if it's a comfort or not knowing that if I wanted to go to Syria the border is about a hour away. Aleppo about 120k.
