Spending my holiday time in the U.K. for a couple of weeks. Had a great day at Alnwick Castle today. But I can't help but notice how few bikes there are on the streets of Newcastle.

Oh well, off to Edinburgh tomorrow.

I worked in northern England for a while and loved it, but never got to Scotland. Gotta get back there sometime.

    No doubt.

We are in Edinburgh now, heading further north tomorrow to explore. Time to learn how to drive from the other side of the car, on the other side of the road.

@Arktasian - we will be staying near Ballindalloch for a couple nights. Single malt spirits will be consumed. :thumb

Every time I have been I have managed to make it to Scotland. Worth doing.

Never made it there, and I have Irish ancestry. Swords, Dublin. ~ 1850s

P.S. And I agree .. there will be a few bikes across on the Isle of Man .. say 40,000 of them. Should leave a few back in Britain though.

Ireland deserves its own trip. I'm part of the clan O'Brien.

Quite a few bikes in northern Scotland, and quite a few more now here in London. Weather has been . . . Variable. :lol3

Stonehenge today. They are setting up for the solstice nut party. :D

One more day in London, then back to the States on Friday.

I recommend the Grange pub in Ealy. :thumb

I passed Stonehenge on my R1200R last Tuesday on the way back to Ireland. It looked to be very busy that day and the traffic was a tad heavy.
Enjoy London - it's a good place to be with some time off.

Newcastle, U.K. - where are all the bikes: Easy answer, they are too expensive to insure as they mostly get stolen for one, the weather is crappy as it is too near to Scotland which is even worse for two.

Yeah, the A303 slows as you crest the hill next to the henge as you can see the stones readily from the road. It was kind of busy but not bad. I found the overall area of Neolithic and later activity as interesting as the henge itself, and perhaps more.

London was fantastic today. Great weather and got spend it with our friends from Bexley. Walked around Greenwich, then Canary Warf, Fleet St, et al.
