Mine was so tight when I bought it I thought I would have to cut it in half to get it off. It broke in over the course of a week or two and eventually fit like a glove.

This helmet needs to fit snugly when it's brand new.

Mine fits fine when once on but for me it's still a bitch to get on.
During my three week trip in Scandinavia I even had a small wind above the eyebrow from taking it on and off all the time,
But I don't mind, as I said once on it's great.

FYI, Revzilla has two of the xd1 models on sale. 20% off. I just ordered a Voyager orange and white.

When I first got mine it was noticeably difficult to put on, primarily because the helmet covers more neck area than most. However, after two years I don't even notice any difficulty. I don't know if that's because I just got used to it, or over time the foam compressed a bit. Or a bit of both...

Just got an XD1 in the mail last night and rode with it on this morning.

    A few observations:

    • Fits great, and will fit even better with time
    • Excellent field of view
    • Not too loud
    • With some adjustment, doesn't fog up too bad on my 10 mile commute
    On the other hand...

It came without the fastener for the top of the visor. I pilfered one from another helmet.

The threaded bung is off center and not horizontal to the top of the helmet, which will eventually stress and fatigue the fastener.

Finally, the chin valence mount points are flimsy at best. I expect to lose it on the road at some point

Thoughts? Remedies? First impressions, great lid. I hope it holds up.

Dilemma....no dealers near me to try these helmets on and according to the size charts I should just be a large at 23 inches. However I'm never a large in any other brand of helmet, always medium in HJC, Shark (except my Evoline 2 which runs big so I'm a S in that one), Shoei Hornet etc.....

Any advice? I've had a search about and can't see if the Nexx runs small or not. I'm fine with a reasonably tight fit as that's safer than a loose fit.

I run large in my HJC. I bought an XXL Nexx, if that gives you any idea.

Thanks, how's the Nexx fit? Snug or loose in places? Can you remove foam with the Nexx or can you only add it with the ergo fit things it comes with?

I'm normally a medium, Shoei XR1000, Multitec, first Nolan N104, but the second N104 for whatever is damn tight, and I might go a large next time. Medium Shoei still fine (commuting helmet). Nexx XD1 is a large, I wouldn't want a medium.

Ok, so that Nexx sizing chart is accurate and Nexx runs a little small. That the consensus?

Broke the top fastener for the peak on mine today.
Duct type is now my only answer.

I did the same thing going under a tree that had fallen across the trail. I asked my local dealer (where I bought the helmet) if he could order a replacement, and he had one from another manufacturer on hand that worked. I think the threads for that fastener are pretty standard among different helmets.

Nexx size chart has me in a small. I wear a medium in every other brand of helmet...Ordered my XD1 in a medium and the fit is perfect.

I'm "M" across the board and the Nexx is no different. Though the Canyon I have does seem to be tighter than my new Baja. Pads seem stiffer.

Thanks, is there a way to add foam or take it away if needed like Arai XD4s? I'll check the shell sizes too as I might just be able to swap out different size cheekpads if necessary.

You can add included pads, I've not checked the Canyon but the Voyager and Baja I have do not have cutaway cheek pads.

One last Q...does the latest model (Canyon?) address the cheek pad issue and any other issues that people have found?

The cheek pad issue was related to the quick release clips (and/or user error), since those are no longer there I imagine the issues is gone. I never saw it myself, had my Voyager for over two years. Will probably rip apart my Canyon this weekend to install the XCom, can take a closer look then.
