Hell you had Brent to and choked it away, I dont think any NFC north teams are a big risk right now.
There were many chokes before #4. (Whom I didn’t want them to sign.) And one after. (Blair Walsh) You get used to it.
They’ll never win one. Not with this regime. And certainly not as long as that dipshit Cousins is there.
Hey he popped his big game cherry so look out now, other than QB I don't understand how a team with so much talent all these years can't be a true threat.
I’m not holding my breath.
They’ve been known for having talented teams that can’t win for decades now. It’s what they do.
Well when your Jersey is purple it's not looking good.
Looking forward to another solid season from the Lions in 2020
Last week on Lions classic football in detroit they replayed Billy Sims first game with the lions. The game was in 1980 against the Rams who had made the playoffs 8 years in a row, the Lions won 41 to 20. The lions had 331 yards rushing, Billy had 153, Dexter Bussey had 111, Freddy Scott hald 36, and Horace King and Rick Kane combined for 31 yards.
Billy was special.
Out of the mouth of victory the Lions snatched defeat. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around? Oh, yeah. This is the Lions we're talking about.
If there only ONE thing we can count on in 2020...
It’s the Lions being the Lions.
Them sucking and firing their coach by week 10?
I thought Terry Bradshaw was going to go after the Fords today during the pregame show when he was talking about how they fired Caldwell who was 9-7 to hire Patricia who is now 9-23, he did not seem impressed at all with this move.
I really thought it was a good move but I think this is his last year, might not hurt to trade Stafford if you can get some good picks because he isn't going to take the team anywhere. The biggest issue same as Cleveland is the ownership, when everything else has been changed multiple times then the issue is them.
After the Detroit Lions beat the Cleveland Browns 59-14 for the NFL Championship in 1957 they were subsequently cursed by Bobby Layne for trading him (going on 63 years for the Clowns too ).
On the Fords selling they won't. They have had good intentions and put their money where their mouth is as they've cleaned house and attempted to rebuild so, so many times & spent hundreds of millions in the process to no avail.
Their next reboot most likely will kick in week 5; this time it will be Sheila Ford Hemp's chance to turn the franchise around. She's got to change everything inside, and it starts with making the right decision with a general manager and a head coach that comes in and makes a winning difference (Caldwell did just that with three winning season in his four as head coach and they made the playoffs twice). Shite, trade as many high paid players as possible including Stafford so he can go win somewhere else just like the Detroit Tigers did with Verlander when he was traded to the Astros and won the World Series for a bunch of prospects and picks or...
*snerk* flipping channels, I paused on the Lions debacle again. Watched Drew Brees light them up for a quick 14 before halftime. And on the flipping goes. I think I'll watch The Untouchables. *insert smartass comment about Lions defensive line and untouchable here*
Another Lions loss
It was an asinine move then, and the decision hasn’t aged well. They thought that a Belichick disciple would be a glamour hire and mean instant success. But, Patricia has lasted longer than I expected. So there is that.
