Don't shoot the messenger!

For the past few months, I've been riding with a great group of people around NH and VT. The group is sometimes huge and sometimes small and I've been feeling very strongly about us needing a thread to share our adventures. I hope one day even if I'm no longer riding that this thread will live on for people who love to ride off road in our neck of the woods!

Admittedly, I've put my GPX files, photos and videos on the "hampster ride" thread and I think it's time we have our own for our adventures. Anyone is welcome. This isn't a ride-report per-se' but I think anyone with GPX files, videos and photos should post them here!

Great day on Sunday what great part of Vermont we were in very scenic.I shouldn’t have gotten that far ahead of you Adam in the tough stuff I could have assisted you sooner with your downed bike.Lunch was had at “Dixie’s 2” in downtown Chelsea vt they were closed when we got there but still served us food.Great place,great peaple good food highly recommend

It was a great ride on Sunday. Thanks guys for the invite. Pretty different pace then what I am used to but I got to actually enjoy my surroundings so that was nice.

It was great riding with you too. Trying to keep up with you reminded me of my motocross years and why I was never that good at it.

Rode the Bayley Hazen on Saturday. 4 hours in 13 minutes of random clips:

19-22F ride yesterday around Etna / Lyme NH Half dirt. lots of frost on the road:

Also, continuing to equip my bike more for next year's off-roading. TKC80s, soft luggage stronger skid plate and crash bars:



Hoping next weekend is a bit warmer. A little bit more off-roading but looks like snow / freezing rain on the schedule.

Well boys, I think that's it for me. The salt trucks were out doing their thing this morning and I really don't like washing off salt when it's this cold. That and the hunters really don't like it when I'm in the woods this time of year. Something about being stealthy and quiet...

Did get out last Saturday so that's a riding day in November. I have over 30 months of unbroken riding meaning I've been out at least once every month for the last 30.

Adam, I look forward to many more adventures now that your bike is getting properly kitted out.

That stream and waterfall are on Rudsboro Road. That's a tasty set of freshly paved curves.

@PackinDirt - Yep...didn't really go out with a bang. Rode to work and it's snowing. going to have to take it easy home:

I feel you. I have about 65 miles range left in my tank. Will probably end up riding to work next week. Once empty, top off w/ ethanol free fuel + stabilization.

For next year, I can't even hide how stoked I am about all of the great riding we're going to have. I'm actually planning out two big non NH trips.

1. Trailer the bike down to Asheville in March with the Quebec BMW club and ride for a week up in the smokies ...I'll ride down if it's warmed up already (unlikely)
2. June, ride this route:



Happy to do it with a few others but we're talking some portions where you're 300 miles between fuel station. Everyone will have to bring 2 spare gallons of gas at least. Anyway, I'm now aggressively watching craigslist and these parts forums for used stuff for the bike. Guards, spare wheels to wrap in knobbies, roto-pax fuel kits and LED lights.

Well, you've perked my interest on this one. Must ask, how much off pavement is this? Taking 2 weeks to do it?

From what I've read, the Trans Labrador is 80% Paved now and they pave more every year so what was once a wicked adventure bike track is now not as much but but there are tons of off-road opportunities as every road off the labrador is dirt...not hard to get lost for a few hours a day. https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Trans-Labrador_Highway

The aim is 10 days but could make it 2 weeks. I have a ton of research to do before I set a date. Some unknowns:
1. Exact fuel station locations
2. Ferry costs
3. Places to camp and how often I want to do cheap hotels (probably every 3rd night to get a better sleep)
4. How many detours I want to factor in..I hear there are some great detours that are dirt but they add more time obviously
5. Attractions I want to see
6. I plan on getting north of Quebec City as fast as possible and once I get off the ferry in Maine, I plan on cannoball running that route quickly as well. So bulk of the trip is going to be spent sightseeing in Newfoundland / Prince Edward Island since I honestly don't know how soon I'll get to go back

This looks like a nice trip you have planned.Red card was talking about doing a trip up and across maine into canada and onto prince edward island and then the ferry back into portland.Alot shorter than your loop of course,maybe like a 3 day weekend trip.....
