Hockey is soon upon us again. I am going to guess that based upon the Chinese calendar this will be the Penguins year again. Fortunately, Ovechkin already got his.

Should be an interesting season, with several strong teams in the mix.

It will be interesting to see how the Pens fare without Kessel. He is one of those guys I love to hate (but he is damn good).

This will be the year of the Rangers. My boys in blue will shock the league with a 118 point regular season and then cruise through the playoffs by tying the 1960 Canadiens as the only other team to sweep all of their games.

Hey, a guy can dream. So far they're undefeated in the 2019-2020 season:D

Yeah, but in the right situation, Kessel rocks. It seems he needs to be on a team where he is the guy and then it is something to see.

After last year, I'm not even going to try to predict how far the Bruins will go this year other than expect they will make it into the playoffs. Midway through last year I doubt anyone expected them to get to the finals, but of course the bizarre early round losses of the top seeds/"best teams" allowed that to happen. Though it seems very unlikely, if something like that happened again this year, they could go all the way. Who the hell knows anymore?!?

Yep, I watched the Caps game last night. A preseason hockey game is better than Monday Night Football:D

It sure is! After watching the Jets vs Browns last night I'd argue that getting a colonoscopy is better than watching Monday Night Football. At least they give you drugs to ease the pain.

1940!!! (I remember the chants before 1994, I was an Islander fan).

I think the Avalanche are going to be strong, that's likely my favorite future right bet right now. I plan on fading the Knights most of the season. Either way I'm salivating at next week's opening games.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I've been watching pre-season every night since it started. Rangers finally looked great last night against the Isles. Been watching Bruins, Red Wings, Blue Jackets and Flyers too. I'm of the opinion that pre-season hockey is better than any football game on currently:D

Actually a pretty good lineup of pre-season tonight with the regular season only a week away. Leafs v Canadiens, Devils v Bruins, Caps v Hawks, Wings v Pens and others.

I have to agree any pre season hockey game is way better than the NFL.

They pretty much only fight in preseason now; it is usually too costly to do so during the regular season. The game is different without as much fighting; not sure that's a bad thing.

I think it's a good thing, faster play with more athletic ability. Of course, I enjoy a good Tie Dome style fight now and then.

The one possible negative of the reduced fighting is that some players appear to do more stickwork to the opponents' faces figuring nobody will directly take them to task. But yes, the game is generally better without the fighting. Although I admit to missing Gino Odjick going out of control for those old Canucks teams; especially since they've seemed psychically soft for several years.

Hockey glorious hockey...... did a 12 game season ticket gig at the club seat level first row.....wife is 5ft tall so an unobstructed view and reason to pay out the arse for good seats. Canes win in a shootout and it was a great fast paced game. Price had a few saves that should make sports center highlights, when he's on he's damn good. Worth the 5 hour drive one way. :clap
