With almost all public land in New Mexico closed due to fires or fire restrictions, we had to get a bit creative to find someplace to get some practice in. After the Sipapu Trails event was cancelled, we did an impromptu trials event at Beavertown http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=695156 which was a blast! Now even that area is closed as well as San Ysidro so we hooked up with Gordy and created the "Gordy's Backyard Screw-The-Fires Trials Practice"! :lol3

This was the basic course. We ended up laying ribbon ot in various ways..kept getting tighter and tougher as the day went on! :huh This time we really didn't have an event, just a killer practice.

What better way to improve the backyard trials course on Independence Day than to order in a couple of new rocks! :lol3

Trailer pulls up with hand picked rocks...

    I'm likin it! :evil
    [IMG]

Gordy asks the driver dude if GG and Brewtus can ride on the trailer for awhile and the truck driver just kicks back and enjoys the show! Gotta love it!

Brewtus got in on the trailer action too
    [IMG]

Finally we let the driver unload the rocks and place them in the yard
    [IMG]

If this guy had only known how long it was going to take a bunch of trials riders to decide how and where to place the rocks, I'm sure he'd have stayed home for the holiday! :lol3

    Then the fun began!

Brewtus even broke out the Team TY80 for a little crazy fun!

Grown adults shouldn't be allowed to have this much fun on a mini-bike! :deal

Big thanks to Gordy and Deb for an awesome day!! :clap:clap With everything in New Mexico closed to riding due to fires and restrictions, we have to be a little creative to find something to ride these days. This day fit the bill perfectly!! :thumb

Need to install a sprinkler system and add water, then it would be just like the Trials Training Center. Looks like an awesome start to a red neck trials playground. :evil

:lol3 It was actually fairly muddy when we started out in the morning. Gordy had soaked it pretty good the day before, but it dried out fast in the heat of the day.

Trick of the camera. Ride an obstacle on the Montesa it looks normal. Ride the same obstacle on the 80 and it looks insane. Trust me, I suck just as bad on the TY as I do on the 4RT.

I'll add pics to this later. I only have what, 88 photos of this silliness.

HUGE thanks to Gordy, Deb, and Toby! :clap

Yes, you do need another trials bike and ...Yes, you do need to build a course on your 10 acres of land! :deal

Then we'd have two places to ride when the whole state is closed down! :lol3

    Getting ready in the morning-

We did take a break in the afternoon to eat some burgers and watch MotoGP. What, doesn't everybody do that during a Trials Practice??? :lol3

We sure looked like we were ready for an event-

Of course it would not be a quasi-NMTA event without the infamous TY80. I managed to get GG and 'TB on it, after they both whined "No way, I'll hurt myself, oh okay I'll try it". I really did not have to convince them much.....

A killer time was had by all. We will have to continue to come up with creative places to ride until I don't see this above my house multiple times a day-

Yup, it's a slurry plane. My house is below one of the flight paths for Kirkland Air Force Base and the Albuquerque International Airport. Cool as it is to see the Firebombers in flight, I don't like the fact that I get to see them SO OFTEN these days. :cry C'mon rain....

Thanks again Gordy and Deb!!! :clap
