Wow, beautiful bike man!
My dream motorcycle growing up I ve always wanted an 86’ 750
I was in CA at the time, the GSX-R 50 and the YSR 50 were both popular. Both of the dealers near me had them in stock and saw a few on the streets.
Man, just beautiful. Nostalgia is a powerful drug for sure. When I took delivery of my 87 I hadn't yet sold the 86 VFR. I remember vividly the feeling of just incredible, everything. The guages not even centered in the foam, the choke lever straight off of the carbs like a dirt bike, the petcock for reserve the same, so small and just business. These things on the Honda were designed with much more fit and finish in mind. No plastic dash to hide the wires behind the clocks. The dealer had installed a stainless Supertrapp exhaust and his son had been riding the bike for about a month, he sold it to me as new with full warranty. The way that thing pulled was intoxicating and the gearbox was butter.
I had an 87 750 back in the day as well hypersports, same red/white/black color scheme as yours, I don't have any pics of it in those colors but after I wrecked it she then became all red, man that seems like forever ago, good times!
Great looking bikes! I am trying to find an OEM exhaust for my '86 1100, they are as rare as rocking horse crap.
Since we are going old school—-1995 i believe, 86 gsxr 750 with 87 gsxr 1100 engine from my best friends bike that he crashed around 140 mph on the Sprain PKwy in Greenburgh N.Y., he survived , fun bike wish I still had it, can’t believe it didn’t kill me and that Was 26 years ago
You folks pulling out the old school pics brings back great memories, thanks!
I had a sweet spot for the 91's, had one back in the early 90's, then later in life bought one to restore and during the process ended up buying a complete 2nd 91 as a spare, good times!
Its only money !
This one even has the impossible to find heel guard.
@OJ-J So Good!
Someone local has a used low mileage 2013 GSX-R 750 for sale at a good price.
Anything to look for or watch out for on that year model?
Love my RC-51.....but its on the .....block.....maybe......I don t know if I can sell it!
Don't do it, there must be another way to have both the RC and the Gixxer!
I wanted to like the pic, but didn't want that to be taken as I support you getting rid of the RC, I do not!
I'm supposed to be thinning the herd going into retirement.
Fortunately the wife is very understanding.
Millage is low but I had the fork internals replaced with Ohlins valving and have never came to grips with them. Maybe Ill keep the RC-51,
And move along my ZRX1200R project.
know what to replace the GSXR10000 with!
Yes, do that, don't sell the RC.
As for the Gixxer replacement, have you looked at the 17-19 CBR1000RR's? I absolutely love my 18SP, comes from Honda with Ohlins, Brembo's, quick shifter up and down with autoblip, TFT display, etc, nice bit of kit for sure and now some good prices on new leftovers at dealers.
Checked em out, lil more cramped than the GSXR. Might just get another GSXR-1000R.
Really want the replacement to have cornering ABS. Would also like semi active suspension.
