We were able to ride the No Wimps trail yesterday. Myself, two friends and Jonz left San Francisquito around 9am and didn't get to San Ignacio until 8:30 pm. The entire trail is as it was before Odile other than two major washes. There wasn't any obstacles that were really tough, the main problem is your riding for a few miles in the wash with no track at all. Mainly round cobble rocks which can wear you down. We made life harder on ourselves in the first wash headed south. We followed the track that takes you up the wash to a point then back down towards the east. We should have just cut straight across the wash. I just didn't know at the time if we were going to catch part of the old two track or not. We also dropped about an hour on a tire repair about midway through. When I get to some better wifi I'll post some video.

Jonz, I wasn't going to even mention that let along post it! Lol we just got to La Paz so I'll have time to pull some video off the GoPro.
I would definitely camp out there. We did in 2013 on a beach out there and it was awesome. Plenty of drift wood for a nice fire. We were thinking next year we would camp and break it into two days.
SOP on an adv ride is to 1) ask a fallen rider "are you okay?" If the answer is yes, 2) take photos/video before the bike can be picked up
Hey Dan, The camping would be spectacular if you had enough water. I drank my full 100 oz from my water bladder and probably another 500 ml of the extra 3 liters I was carrying. If I was going to camp, I'd probably make that 4 or 5 extra liters of water. The only water I saw was along the two track maybe 20 or 30 miles north of Hwy 1.
Nicely done! How was the wash headed back west from the coast? Did you guys use some of the 4x4 tracks (post Odile) or the original track?
I had the 4x4 tracks with their flagged points but mainly used the original tracks. It probably would have been easier had we spent more time looking for a line but we just blasted through it. The wash from the west was long because your traveling up it instead of across it. As your finding your way up it your constantly looking for a better line.

I think I finally figured out how to post videos here. I have some other good videos of the No wimps trail but need to edit them down as the file sizes are too big for smugmug. This is a clip of Jonz big crash! we had been riding in rocks for a long time so everyone was pretty tired. I'm planning on riding this trail again this year in February. This was our ride last January.
Yaaaaa!!!! @Baja Ho Thanks for getting that posted. It would be neat if there was a water source somewhere along the coast so you could camp out there for a day without having to lug 20 lbs of water along.
Awesome, thanks for the video's. I think I may need longer legs if I needed to do a lot of stopping in those rocks. Driving to Cabo tomorrow.
Thanks for the vids guys. Those washes look WAY different than they did a few years ago. We're going to make the full pull from BoLA in April, going to be a long day! Hydrating doesn't mean 4 jumbo margis at Guillermo's Chihuahua!
I had to stop watching and take a nap 3 times watching those videos. I was just plumb wore out--------and had severe arm pump.
As I write this I’m in San Ignacio. We’ve had a lot of bike problems on this trip including my ktm 500 having a mystery problem. It powered out then got back to full power but now it smokes really bad and there’s a loud rattle. This happened west of El Arco. We didn’t have a chance to ride the No Wimps as another bike had problems that we fixed in Bay of LA. We did run into Bill Nichols and his crew at Bay of LA and then San Ignacio. They attempted the No Wimps but came up to a locked gate. They said it was military and decided not to try getting around it. They also said an airplane flew over them twice patrolling the area.
