We followed some whoopy trails back to Fremont Peak Rd, then crossed to the west side of 395 and headed south on the old pole road.

Last stop was a quick tour of the creepy abandoned prison complex before the final sprint back to KJ :pynd

Well poop. Might be a bit before I can join you guys again. after 2 days of my foot looking like a sausage, my wife made me go to the doc. X-Rays were taken. First time I looked at them I didn't see a problem. Then the doc called me to tell me there was a fracture and I would have to see a podiatrist. So I looked at them again, And I think I see what they are talking about. The navicular bone has a nice wishbone pattern that I am pretty sure doesn't belong there. [I'm a software geek. They gave me a disk with the images - of course I read them. ]
While the good ol' podiatrist will tell me tomorrow - I'm hoping that a) I'm right in my guess on which bone, and b) it's not displaced (doesn't appear to be). Might let me skip the whole cast thing.

Awe man. I saw you limping from the Jeep when me and Gred stopped under the awning before leaving. I was wondering how bad it was. Hope you can heal without the cast.

FWIW, a size 13EEE velcro shoe fits quite nicely over a left foot cast to facilitate shifting.

Just curious what you do when your regular shoes are a 13 EEEE, haha.

Me too - I don't wear shoes except when forced to - that means "formal crap" (company dinners, weddings, that kinda of thing), or riding the
bike. I have a duck foot. 10C at the heel, 10EEEE at the toe. And I'm lucky, it's the right foot. Might be a problem in dirt, but on the street?
Who needs a rear brake anyway? Although She Who Makes Life Bearable But Must Be Kept Happy is not going to be too up for the idea.

No worries, as my supervisor at work commented when I let him know what was going on: "Excrement Occurs" , or something like that anyway.
