LOL, I knew a thread would pop up over here. I'm still leaning yes, as is one other rider that I've been discussing riding out with.

Neither I or that other rider are rebels, hell bent on riding. We just see less incremental risk to being out in the desert for a few days than being in a city with millions of people.

Given that people have strong opinions on this issue, it may be good to use this thread as a list to switch into a group PM at one point.

Also, I think it's important that anyone that does go surpasses leave no trace and stays focused on riding safer than usual and doing the whole social distancing thing.

For now i'm still in. Everyday is wildly different from the day before. So still playing by ear. But a campfire in the middle of nowhere does sound nice.

I'm on house lock down. :banMy son and I are ready to go, we just have to figure out how to kidnap my wife. I can't leave her home alone. I've trying to convince her that DVNP is safer than the Bay Area. She has been on FB way TOOOOO much. :baldy She claims the death rate is 68% of peeps who have it. I keep telling her that's the sick and old and hell I have already out lived my life expectancy but she still has me on house arrest. At this point it a game day (Tues) decision. We picked up RV site 4, 1 day before everything blew up this week. I got an email from PSR last night that my site is still mine!

Probably last minute decision for me. Figure I’ll trailer up alone, get drive up take out if needed, not shake hands or hug nobody. Should be better than going to a grocery store by far. All I have to do is not lick any gas pump handles or touch my face.
I’ll shake all you hands etc. in my imagination.

The best way to talk to the wife is use facts, not Facebook hysteria. Visit the Federal CDC website and California's COV19 website.

Does this order affect hiking? State Parks?

No, you may still go outside so long as you practice social distancing of six feet. California State Parks have closed indoor facilities and campgrounds, but trails and outdoor spaces are still open. Spending time outdoors can lead to a number of overall health and wellness benefits like lessening anxiety, boosting creativity and getting your vitamin D. If you decide to make a trip, remember to keep social distance.
