    DESCRIPTION FOR ALL EVENTS:

Description: A weekend of fairly easy Dual-Sport riding. Mostly two-track, lots of gravel, some rocks, some dirt. Weather should be mild/cool. There are a number of suggested routes to choose from and your hosts, Doug Pippin and I will help you load your GPS. Soil in this area is sandy/loamy and drains quickly so there isn't much slippery mud. That said, there are areas that do not favor the large over 1000cc bikes.

Will definitely be riding Friday. We usually do the longest route on Friday (170-200 mi). Depends somewhat on the weather...

This ride is very informal. Its purpose is to provide routes and a meeting place and let the riders take it from there to ride their own pace and style. In the past, we have had no more than about 30 riders, often more like 20, although I expect there will be more this year. We don't ride in a single large group, and there are multiple routes available. (Doug and I like to ride with a group of 6-8.)

Doug and I won't be leaving before 8am. Our typical departure is 830-900. On a cold, rainy day could be as late as 1100.

Attendees need to come prepared to do their own navigation or come with someone who is prepared to do so.

Since route files will be distributed and loaded at the hotel on Thursday night, I recommend stopping by, getting the files and connecting with other riders to find a group to ride with. Once you have found riding partners, you can decide which route to ride on Friday and what time you want to start.

I’m interested in joining the ride on Friday – is it still happening? I hope to stay at the hotel on Thursday night.

As of right now, we are still riding Friday and Saturday. There was heavy rain today (about 1.5" total) and we are waiting on an update from a local person. In any case, it's going to be cold and sunny on Friday- below freezing at sunrise, high of about 50. I will be loading tracks for people and anyone who wants to ride can leave whenever they want. (There is no large led group ride- everyone is on their own to self organize, choose a route, etc.)
