Here's hoping you have even more fun on your current ride!
Great RR, Thx for the time to share.
All the best on your current trip.
Just got caught up in this thread, it was one of the many I loved when I joined.
Great stuff, Jamie. Keep it up.
And I'd need both hands to count the times I missed when a woman was interested in me. Mostly in my 20s and early 30s.
It's mostly a confidence thing.
These spots in McCook are near me here in the Rio Grande Valley. Yesterday was a beautiful day so I rode out there to show you that the picnic area has been razed, probably cost cutting from the State. I used to like laying on one of the picnic tables on nice days. In a nearby field my riding buddy and I once saw a breathtakingly large gathering of migrating hawks, a sight I may not ever see again. We didn't have a camera. The store is still there.
saw jamie's current thread so had to spend my snowed in day to get the back story.....great read and looking forward to the next chapter. safe travels, jamie and thanks for bringing us along.
I just read the whole piece in one sitting. Fantastic!
Fantastic rr! I especially liked the pics with the women. Too bad about Daniella, as that would have made a great rr even better. Oh well, I'm reading your current rr and look forward to your travels. WAIT, you should see if you can find Daniella again!?!
I wasn't on ADVRider when you took this trip, so I really enjoy the stories of older rides. I'm in Thunder Bay, so it was a great surprise to see you riding up here as well. The Inntowner.......wow. That building was torn down in 2010....but we still have the memories and stories from days past. Lots of good times there. Thanks Jamie.
I’ve also been reading your new rr and had to come read this one - I’ve got a vstrom 650 and have been wanting to see Mexico. Good read. You travel much like I do, camping, being interested in where you are, and actually interacting with people.
When reading, though, I kept thinking how the trip would’ve been different for me. Soaping up in a sauna, especially. Not ideal.
Also, all the commenters who said this kind of travel needs to be done while you’re young. I hope not. I’m waiting for my youngest to be launched (7 years, but I’m traveling when I can until then), then I’m off.
Thanks for writing. Guess I should my travels on here, too.
