yeah guys, might as well get on with the "new" improved mascot... when I come down to Va this summer, I'll swing by and do a quick search, just for giggles... on my way to Richmond.

so, put the new toy in play, and remember, this IS the "north american t-o-r", so move it accordingly to a different state, if possible...This game is pretty forgiving on allowing time to "drop" a new spot... within reason, I know you guys wanna drop it somewhere interesting... but remember, the game is played by both "road riders" and dual spurt riders, so please don't bury it at "scat camp" (little Richmond Va. joke for the rest of the group)

    so Game on....:clap:clap:clap:clap

Yep, move on. This has happened before and it'll happen again. Nature of the beast.

Drop a new one or we all will just be increasing our thread count instead of bike miles going for it. :D

Greetings Amigos! My name is Luis and I am a fellow ADV rider from Cuba who loves to travel! My new friends Eddy Alvarez and his gringo friend “Bigloop67” have placed me in a Tupperware container and have buried me in southern Virginia! Please come rescue me and take me along on your travels! Biploop67 will be posting very specific details and pictures of my location on Friday. Please hurry, it’s very dark in here!

Mascots come and go. I hope this one lasts a really long time.
It would be neat to see eggy pop up again somewhere.

    Welcome Luis

I will find the egg... and I will dispose of the silly new mascot.
don't worry, I'll bring it back for the kids to play with.

on second thought, this game never began with a mascot, and in reality, doesn't need one.. just complicate sheet... so.. play tag. Lost Mascots, and replacements have always hindered these games, looking back. It's about the ride/tagshot/ and another ride...

Luis has taken refuge 88.4 miles (Google maps) due south from Cosmo.
If Appomattox is considered "where the country re-united" or "the end' then this town should certainly be considered the "Beginning of the end". the longest siege in the Civil war took place here and the single most notable event of this siege happened in the field across from where Luis now resides.
when entering this Battlefield from either direction, you will be routed to the same parking lot just to turn around and start down the 1 way road. The sign below lets you know that in 3.3 miles you will have arrived
    IMG_1121.jpg
arrived HERE (below) Go slow, It is 1 way so if you pass him its apprx. 6 miles back around!
    IMG_1095.jpg

If you look directly across the street ( where the truck is pointed) you will see the below sign.
The red arrow points to the tree approx. 20 ft. behind the sign where Luis resides
    sign.PNG

look for a small red band on the tree and you have found the spot

care was taken to find a suitable spot that was both naturally low and hidden so not to have to "dig" Luis in. A few brushes of the hand on the ground at exactly 180 Degrees from the road will reveal him.
    good luck

Now I'm going to need another hint, the " longest siege in the Civil war" was Port Hudson, Louisiana, approximately 1,030 miles southwest of what I think was Cosmo's last sighting?

And 88.4 miles straight south makes it look like you mean Petersburg VA but the distance is closer to Dinwiddie and there's not a park.

Pretty sure it's Petersburg. Haven't looked at street or satellite views yet though.

I stand corrected...According to the literature, the longest "Military event" of the Civil war. 9 1/2 months.

Looks like it’s on Siege Rd in the Petersburg National Battlefield. Probably at the parking lot for The Crater.

having lived there, where the guys that dropped the tag live, and during my 10 years, where I began playing this game, being a real Civil War"Nut"... I know exactly where it is...I've actually parked my bike there to play and take photos...(for Richmond TOR) great job Eddie and Biggie...

man, my fingers hurt just watching that vid...( from one bluesman to another...)
I hate getting old... gotta pull and replace a starter on my truck tomorrow, and dread even the pain from the process of removing 2 freaking bolts, and a couple wires... laying on the ground on my back... "rolling and tumbling...."

    rock on, man,

(the Conni still treating you well...? just checking...)
